Oh wow. I am glad that I looked at this thread, this is so amazing! I saw a picture a cab someone had done and was amazed, but to have the directions and pictures is so great! Thanks so much for sharing!

Oops, just noticed the doublets/treblets heading. I wish id chosen doublets or triplets, oh no, I had to learn the hard way and started with solid opal. theres nothing more disheartning then a beautifull opalesance vanish before your eyes.
yes it is pat, scrunch up some silver foil, just kidding. Someone tried to sell us some foil trebs at tucson a few shows back, great way to start the day with a good laugh.
You can pick up some of those jars of opal bits for a reasonable price and make some. I fancy trying a canadian amalite one just to be differant.

Great tutorial. I truly appreciate this being here, because I specifically needed to know how to mix the epoxy without making bubbles, how to lower the "focal" piece onto the backing without making bubbles, and not clamping them together too hard. Thanks so very much.
