Last Monday I had my knee surgery, so I started a load in the vibe the week before. I thought I could be up and around in time to clean it and move it on to the next stage, but ended up having to let the barrel sit full for a few days after the 500 tumble becuase I was a lot less mobile than I'd assumed I would be.
The past week and a half has been tough. I'm not really in pain, in fact I feel better since the surgery than I have for a month or so leading up to it when my cartilage was torn and displaced. What's been hard is that I can't put any real weight on my right leg, which means I need crutches, which means I can't carry anything from point A to point B.
Last Saturday I recruited the help of my 2 youngest (8 and 6) and they shuttled gallons of water, dirty water, the pump sprayer and just helped me get things done so we could finally go into polish. Because I knew it might sit, I added a few drops of dish soap to the barrel before shutting it off in an attempt to keep the grit from sticking to the rocks. It worked, I kept the lid tight and the rocks rinsed nice and clean (some needed slightly rubbed to remove a thin film) but I started the vibe with the polish barrel.
I left it run in polish for 5 days and was able to clean up tonight.
Here's the whole batch after rinse and dry:
Bahia Agates
TeePee Canyon saw scraps:
Wyoming Petrified Wood bits
Parker, Colorado Petrified Wood
Wyoming Stromatolite Saw Scraps
Turritella Agate bits
Miscellaneous Wyoming Tumbled Jasper and Agate
Sweetwater Agate
A teeny, cracked but pretty chip of Sarape Jasper
Luna Agate end cuts
A few odds and ends, a polka dot jasper end cut, a piece of Indian green jasper, some Owyhee Jasper and a piece of Mooka Jasper
Misc Wyoming
Bahia halves
Another Bahia half
Some rose quartz
Thanks for looking, I have some fun stuff still in rough so hopefully in a week or 2 I can have another load ready.
