My aunt just visited and she brought me this beauty. She bought it around 25 years ago so I'm pretty sure it's white Australian Opal. It shimmers more than the photo but this is the best I got. It's a monster. It weighs 1.6 pounds. The sterling chain alone is 1 pound. I assume the silverwork is another half pound. I'm going to have to swap out that chain cos it's really heavy and keeps pulling out my hair. What a great gift. Unfortunately, there are a few surface cracks on the opal. But I love it. The design on the r/h side is a lily. Not sure if it's cast or handmade. She got it at an art fair.

I put it on the postage scale and it said 1.6, pounds and ounces. Like I said, most of it is the chain. I'd say the pendant itself is 2" long by 1.5" wide. There's another layer of silver you can't see towards the back. I doubt it's an ounce, it's quite heavy.
