Greetings Everyone, My name is Glen. 50 years ago my parents bought all the lapidary equipment we needed to cut, grind and polish rocks. I learned to love rock hounding then and I am learning to love it all over again.
I find that I usually have at least one rock in my pocket(s) and I have a variety of growing rock piles. some in my bedroom, some in the garage, some on the porch, some in different locations in my yard.
It's confirmed, I am a rock licker.
I've tied in with Mount Hood Rock Club in Portland/Gresham. They have a shop with saws, grinders and polishers. That's great but I want to get my own equipment. I'm planning on starting, by building a rock tumbler. I'll be posting plans and questions in one of the other groups on this forum.
Great to be here. Talk to you all later.
Glen

Welcome from Yorkshire, England My wife returned from Berlin the other week with a rough Azurite for me, describing how it was the best one of the bunch (and it is good), she perused, selected and confirmed it by licking. I was proud. Actually, I'll have to educate her on which rocks not to lick; we just had a mountain / molehill concern after she and the youngest decided to sample Lily pollen ... toxic tho' more to cats than humans it turns out. Still, best not to over-indulge.

Welcome from colorado! If some one don't lick a rock you just can't trust'um? We all can relate to them mysterious piles or rocks growing around our homes kind of strange? No water no food no hands, feet or even minds of their own but yet manage to some how reproduce into bigger piles?

Found a rock with Azrocklickers on the back. It’s a cute Little Rock with a red crab on it. It was found on the Grand Cayman island at the wreck of the 10 sales! If I can figure out how to leave a picture I will. My sone was very excited to find it.

Welcome from Michigan. Have to laugh at "1 rock in your pocket"..... rarely is there not at least 1 in my pocket when ever I walk anywhere. Although, I do practice "catch and release" at the end of each month with the bowl of pocket stones on my dresser.
