I think I have a few hero's in each individual section but for wire wrapping rockjunquie has my vote. Cabbing as of lately I am really enjoying Roger and Tommy's stuff. For smithing radio nad toiv0 comes to mind. For tumbling I always enjoy jamesp's crazy experiments and detailed trials and tribulations but that section has very stiff competition for best quality. The folks I really look up to are not always the ones that post the best looking stuff it is more based on their overall participation and willingness to share techniques and converse about their craft. I'll take maddest scientist vote.
Hero's, above mentioned is a darn good start.
I would not want Tela to wrap me up. well, you know what I mean I would not want Chuck to groove me. or compete in a tumbling contest as he must pay off the judges. ETA- kidding, this man can polish brick I would not want to be cabbed by Tommy. I would not want Mel to identify me. I would not want to be in college class competing with Dave. I would not want Roy to clamp me in his saw. I would not want to get into a debate with those in the political section ha.
Etc etc. and too many fine artisans and gifted to pick from. And to many are masters of their own bailiwick.

I have to give a shout out to Drummond Island Rocks . He gets my nomination for tumbling. There is some real stiff competition in that department, to be sure. However, Chuck has always been willing to help out a fellow tumbler. It is obvious that he has a passion for tumbling and it shows. I don't tumble, so as strictly an observer he gets my vote for being a tumbling warrior.

Thanks Tela, but my mind is gone. So many others deserve to be here but . . . I'm embarrassed can't even remember Fossilman 's real name. jamesp remembers everyone's names! If your mind is gone, I'd hate to see what you came with before it was gone!!! LOL! (I don't remember everyone's name, either.)

I Think this is an amazing forum with amazing teachers/friends/inspirators! At first I was pleasent surpriced to how well functioned this forum was, I have other hobbies where you certanly dont see that kind of kindness, but new to the rock hobbie I guessed that maybe that was just the Way all rock hounds were. I have since learned that it's not the case and that this forum is truly unique😃❤️ I have many idols here, Bikerrandy for his posts on tumbling massproduction cabs and the triplet posts, Tommy and rockjunquie for their amazing cabs, i Always look forward to their photo posts and often go back and admire them. jamesp for his technical rambling, Wich i try to understand as much as possible but my only Hero would be @shotgunner for taking the time to pack and send a freebie box to a complete stranger. I Think that is going Way beond kindness.

Aww...shucks. I don't think my name should be on page 1 of the list let alone be mentioned several times, but sincerely thank you each. Lot's of hero's and mentors and teacher's here. The beauty of this forum environment as opposed to a Facebook group is that trust and accountability are allowed to grow, flourish, and be recognized. I love that it's a group effort here - newcomers are encouraged to participate, learn, and grow and when one veteran isn't posting as much they once did, other heroes step up and fill in. In football the MVP award is partly determined by the question - how would this team have done if this player was missing. With this in mind my special mentions are 1dave for the sheer amount of quality educational material brought to the group, and @shotgunner and jamesp for consistently breathing life-giving activity and knowledge into the forum.

Glad Lowell got on here as well. I was going to "nominate" him. I haven't seen him around lately and miss his contributions.

I like making friends, gifting rocks and solving problems. Your gift did all three! I have had the true pleasure to meet so many of our members. I love that. Jim, thanks for bringing us clay, pre grinding methods and tools, big grinder stones, higher rpms, affordable DiY barrels and probably more. Honorable mentions for Rockoonz jakesrocks And perhaps forgotten others for their deep knowledge of used equipment, their operation and repair. Starting with Lee and Don I want to add quartz and again Jim for their engineering knowledge and all that they share. Larry & Jim someday I will have a full tumbling workshop and I will owe it to you guys. Now for the lapidary division. Sabre52 Mel, you are the master of stone ID and mostly from pictures! I love every picture. micellular Michelle, you took to faceting like a porpoise in water. You are a mermaid and I envy your abilities. Keep it up! Never quit! cardiobill Bill, keep making hearts for your patients. No doubt those are better medicine than in your perscription pad. I am so privileged to be actual face to face friends with so many. rockpickerforever, mrrockpickerforever Jena and Bob! Over 20 years starting in the reptile biz! Miss you two! Tommy and his Lovely bride Eva. True friends. Indeed. Mark K Mark, has the best campfire stories. orrum, you inspire me as well.
