My thought is keep $20, parlay $20. You still get the $ won if the X2 didn't come up, and could possibly win more. If not you're still $20 ahead.

glad you chose the abundance of caution, at least for now. I will tell you how I came by the emergency money, some folks call it "mad money". My husband and I were out with friends for dinner and relied on either a check (back in the day) or credit card to pay for things like that. This was a place that was out in the back and beyond and only took cash. We were flummoxed. Luckily, our friends had an emergency hundred tucked behind his Driver's License and was able to bail us out of a sticky situation. Since then, we both carry an emergency $100. And that was almost 30 years ago.

You got all your hearts in a row, Jean ? Lucky girl! I always seem to be a rock’n heart 1/2 short of a full flush Luck of the draw, I suppose. But I keep grinding Given a lot of thought to why people who can least afford to gamble, do it ? It as something to do with dopamine and the brain. Makes them feel good the expectation of winning. Which is better than just being broke & depressed A cautionary tale… Mostly

My DH worked at a 7-11 for a short while way back in the day. High lottery days brought out all the poor folks. I feel bad for them in a way. I went to Dover Downs last summer. The place was filed with hard core gamblers. You can spot them. They have a certain look and air to them. Actually made me feel a little uneasy and out of place. I'm just not a gambler. DH enjoys a little 21, though.

I'm a math teacher, so I know better than to gamble. We have some Indian casinos in Michigan, about three within a two hour drive. My wife and I go several times a year just to go for a drive, play some slots and eat out. We go expecting to lose, but hope to lose slowly. We each limit ourselves to $30. We just figure that the $30 we lose is the cost of our day out. I almost never sit down at a machine and see someone next to me betting as little as I do. I try to stick between $.15 and $.25 per spin. It's amazing to me that people will occasionally point out that if I win with a low bet, I won't win as much. No one seems to notice that if you lose with a low bet, you don't lose as much. I stay away from machines that only pay out big prizes for higher bets.

At the local Indian casinos, I have never spent more than $20. Always quarter or dollar machines, never on a table playing cards. Unless you really suck, that is going to buy you a whole afternoon of entertainment! I am not a whale in the sense the casinos mean, no sirree! I only play on the cheap. And forget the comped drinks, that's a guaranteed way to lose what you brought with you. Gonna cash that puppy in today and put the money behind my license! For a rainy day... or bills, whaytever seems more impoirtgant at the time, lol. Just heard on the radio this morning that March is National Problem Gambling Awareness Month. Ha.

Slot machines are illegal in Texas. Last June an Indian casino opened up 2 hours from my house. They have class 2 electronic bingo machines, which many people have no idea they are playing bingo, reels and all just like a regular slot.Won $3925 jackpot. Sometimes I'll win 200 to 500 bucks, sometimes lose 500 or 600. Been 17 times I believe, love it.Day trip for me and the wife.Still ahead on the money. I'm not like a lot of people I know that claim to win every time they go! Count my money before I go in,and count on the way home.

.... Should I "hear" numbers in a dream, of course I will have to play SuperLotto or MegaMillions. That's a given, right? But only if the prize money is way up there. Or, I could use my two favorite guys's birthdays for numbers. I can always use more money. Can't everybody? Jean
Uh, just to clarify a point - my two favorite guys are mrrockpicker and my dad!! Still have not had any numbers come to me in a dream, lol.
I don't think you have a gambling problem either, high roller, you have a penny hoarding problem. Just my two cents. Ha! Not me, my husband has a penny hoarding problem. I have a rock hoarding problem!
You got all your hearts in a row, Jean ? Lucky girl! I always seem to be a rock’n heart 1/2 short of a full flush Luck of the draw, I suppose. Mostly Yes, mohs , I do have my hearts in a row, lol. Vertically.
Isn't that what it mostly seems to be about? The luck of the draw?
Ticket redeemed, the winnings are currently ensconced in my wallet behind my DL.
