fantastic5, I only see the one photo of the two sleeping together, but it's a good one. I love the Melon Collie meme.

Very cute puppy. Sorry for the loss of your dog but sounds like the new pup is just what your family needed. I thought about getting a mini aussie but then got Gypsy given to me by Rockhobbit. She is 4 now. She started out tiny but she got weighed at the vet a few days ago when we got her shots and she now weighs in at a whopping 21.5 lbs. She was supposed to be 7 lbs but no one told her that. The vet said she isn't fat so no worries there. Gypsy as a puppy Gypsy now

Love seeing all your dog friends. Cats are more my style since they are usually more peaceful. Usually. Both are wonderful pets.
We've also had a chinchilla, rats, mice, geiko, hermit crab, fish, hamsters, rabbits, birds and more mice. Might be forgetting a few. Kids all adults now and nobody has a dog; all have a cat. One also had a horse and a squirrel (rescued).
Had a rescue dog once. However, the dog figured I needed to be protected from my husband. Either the dog or husband had to go. Dog had to go. Husband still here 53 years.

Not a puppy and not a pet, per se, but these two decided to drop out of their nest and make back yard dog detail more difficult.

I'm thinking ours will be about that size, maybe a hair taller and a little heavier. Thanks for sharing.

I can see her becoming a ball dog, too.
This is how it starts.
Love that 'inbred' meme, hadn't seen that one.
I know exactly what you mean, lol. My dogs would love to go to the beach. Run, jump the waves, and chase balls into the ocean. Sometimes we'd go to the bay. The downside, they'd ingest salt water, then get the squirts. Not a pretty sight.
Freshwater lakes and reservoirs are better, but all the lakes around here are for drinking water storage. They do not allow dogs, or even people to have contact with the water. Can't say I blame them! A good option, although we have to drive to AZ for it, was to let them swim in Lake Alamo. It is a flood control lake, they don't care if you let your dog swim there. Take the trailer, go out for a week, kick back and relax. Haven't been able to do that for some years now...

Usually people comment on her ears because of the ear feathers. It does look adorable when she is listening to something you said and cocks her one ear higher than the other. Wish I could get a good picture of that but she won't stay still long enough...lol.

I also like when they cock their head right and left trying to figure out what you're saying. Too funny.

I love my dogs. A wet, cold, nasty day. Working in my shed, I was taking it easy. The doors open and my white lab comes busting in, she hates wet weather...a lab. As she sits by the door looking at the rain and snow....thinking, boy is it nasty out today, turn up that heater a notch and shut these freakin doors. This footstool is my place... So beat it. I have my dogs trained very well. The white lab( piper) that is her place. If she is causing troubles all I have to say is " go to your place". The foot stole is where she goes. The best book for training is "How to be your dogs best friend." Check it out.

Per request here are 2 of my fur babies. The cats will have to be caught later cat napping they don't seem to like their pictures taken. I love my dogs. The Border collie is Missy and 9 years old. Keeps the yard squirrel free and loves to swim. Always watching the world. Rare moment she was still in the truck. She is also retired. Both are inside outside dogs. This is Bailey my million dollar baby (vet bills) she is 9 also, man where did the time go. She is my constant shadow. She retired early due to 2 blown acl's. Both were cattle working dogs. Oddly Bailey is also a pretty good health alert dog for me. Both are very intelligent. She also is a great mouser. Also she is a great dragon slayer I have to replace the slain dragons about 2x a year. Its her one vice. It goes everywhere with her. .

Herding squirrels is a tough job to do but somebody has to do it. I fear for her when she finally catches one.
