When we turn the Forest Service over to the bird and bunny lovers and the tree huggers and the rock lickers, we've turned our history over. We are going to lose our wildlife and we are going to lose our scenery, the very thing you people wanted to try to protect. It's just plain stupidity.
Utah state Rep. Mike Noel I watched that video. I'm not sure how "rock lickers" affected the forest condition. I think he's just angry & threw that part in. It was environmental groups that wouldn't let those in charge of managing the forest to do their jobs. Like clearing out trees killed by bark beetles. Lynn

Lynn Wasn't this this guy who is calling down rock lickers the same guy butt lickin for votes not too long ago?? Can't think of anyone who likes nature more than the people who love being out in the beauty of nature and bring home parts of it. Many areas of our government aren't functioning as they should. Subverted by political interests by politicians of either stripe for their own gain and have no idea of what the people want.

One really sad thing is that a lot of the tree huggers have never spent one night out underneath the stars.

One really sad thing is that a lot of the tree huggers have never spent one night out underneath the stars. That's the plan. The end result of environmentalism is the absolute destruction of such. When all wild areas are fenced off, in a couple generations nobody living will know anything about it. Then, it will be easy to destroy.... Environmentalism; another Orwellian term. We must all learn to recognize them.

What use are public lands if the public cannot use them or access them to recreate? Many of our public lands are now just private recreation areas for park rangers and a few researchers. Older folks or those with young kids can't use areas you can only hike into but the BLM etc just love to deny vehicle access thereby effectively closing an area off to most folks. Heck, in a lot of wild areas on the desert you can't even get off the road to pitch a tent without them harassing you..Mel

We took a ride up to Brianhead on Saturday, the road to the peak had just opened. BH is one lucky town, wind from another direction and it would have been a real tragedy. We talked to and thanked a couple of fire personnel, met pilot a that was working the fire, he confirmed about the winds. Didn't collect any rocks, we'll go back soon, though. You can see in the center of the picture where it started: Temporary antennae for fire control use: Some hot spots and the main area to the right:
