Hi everyone! Name is Glenn and I am from Vacaville California. Retired Navy. Got a Nat Geo Pro tumbler for my grandson's 2016 Xmas present. He never opened the box (he is 12 and more into video games it seems. Someday he will see the beauty of the hobby). BUT... In the process of researching tumbling for his gift, I got hooked instead! When Xmas rolled around, and I did not get a new tumbler gift from Santa, I went out and picked up a Lortone 3A and started out on a tumbling adventure that would eclipse any of my other obsessions. I am happy! Because of physical restrictions, I am relegated to buying my tumbling stock from Amazon - or the Consolidated Rock Shop here in Vacaville (very nice place to visit and spend hours viewing - and buying - the merchandise!). My equipment has grown since last Xmas to include 2 Lorton 3A units, 2 Lorton QT66 units, with an extra 12 lb barrel. Today I received a new UV-10 from the Rock Shed (with some beautiful Quartz) and will expand into the joys of vibes (yippiii!!). I have a lot to learn, both in the tumbling hobby and in the correct navigation and use of this forum - and (most recently) in how to post pictures (a painful experience! Please be patient with the new kid!!!). The Tutorial sections have been a great help to me. I made sure to read up on the UV-10 before ordering it, and have viewed numerous member threads on operating a vibe (thank you Randy!!!). Sooo... Hello to Everyone!

Welcome from just down the street from you in Pleasant Hill. We love Consolidated Rock - it's a dangerous place for me to go into - can't make it out without spending a lot of money. We like dealing with the owner Greg so we tend to go on Sundays mostly - he's high on a lot of his prices *but* once he gets to know you he'll dicker and give some pretty good deals.

Hi Glenn,
Welcome from Michigan. Sounds like you're hooked bad. That's a lot of tumblers in a short period of time. Be sure to post some pictures as you harvest shiny rocks.

gmitch067 I thought this thread might be of interest to you We are blessed to have such a great rock shop right there in Vacaville. I don't get to go in as much as I want to anymore so I try to make the most of it. Only had one hour today before having to get back home to cook for a momma's day crowd coming over.

Oh no, Glenn, it looks like you have been bitten by the bug and contracted a severe case of Rocktumblitis! There is no known cure, but at least the treatment is pleasant.... tumble lots of great rocks!
