My wife had the bottom ~11% of her back fused on Apr. 28, long recovery. She is using a marijuana oil with some other stuff in it [topical application] rather than opiate pain meds, it's working quite well. That's good to know that its working for her. I know some older people who vape and it helps them in a few ways.. Expensive or are you able to grow your own?

Carol gets it from a friend; she and her husband are growers and he makes up the oil concoction. Fairly costly but not as much as doc. prescribed stuff would be. She says worth it.

Couple of other friends too. Giving strong consideration to it. Good reports. Better sleep. Firm believer in sleep and rest.

Likely have to wait another 10 years for THC tx legality in the bible belt. My DH has had 5 back surgeries in the past 10 years. Two different multilevel fusions and cages. He gets opiates regularly from his rheumatologist. I hate what it does to him when he hurts himself and needs to take more than just a minimal dose in 24 hours. Can't sleep, gets irritable, starts projects he shouldn't because he is to antsy to rest. He's not in pain, only a PTA when he gets like that. He had heard about a plant called Kratom, but after some research found that it is illegal in Tennessee (not Georgia jamesp ). Opiate crisis in America fueled by the inability to use anything else.

He too lives in Chattanooga and does not cross into Georgia with his oil stash. CBD is legal, it's the THC one that Georgia will get you for. Now the CBD put my lights out, great sleeping agent. Yes, the opiates cause problems. up down up down, and then withdrawal if you quit. Depresses breathing.

This thread sure became an entirely different animal.....
I'm still in for 200# of bulk SiC. Haha
Cannabis and all its permutations will be sold legally to all adults in 2018.
I don't like the effects it gave me decades ago. Leery of using it now. Like everyone else have many aches and such from 54 years of injuries. Ibuprofen works. Not happy about using it daily.....
Ughhh

Kratom has a lot of nasty side effects anyway. Not recommended. Look in to DL-phenylalanine instead. This amino acid is a precursor for dopamine, which declines with long term use of opiates. That is what leads to the addiction of opitate pain killers and the withdrawal symptoms. The DLPA needs to be taken on an empty stomach and takes about 2 weeks to kick in. But once it kicks in the pain relieving effects are long term. Also great for people trying to wean off of opiates to reduce withdrawal if started before the opiate withdrawal.

We should be able to do better. Why do we allow the government to dictate what we can do to help ourselves?

I know my husband takes a lot of supplements and the DL phenylalanine is something he said he had taken for several years, ever since he started the narcotics. He just hasn't been strict on the empty stomach, but will start. Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it!

Larger amino acids sharing the same receptors in the aminos using those receptors will block smaller ones from being absorbed. Therefore, empty stomach prevents competition problems.

Maybe someone will get stoned enough to order 3000 pounds of bulk SiC. Figuring (Vegas)James will certainly come up with a concoction. Just don't try peyote, omg.

I went back through this thread, but got distracted by the dope. How much does a pallet of this material weigh? Just wondering if I could haul it in the back of the pick-up, or if i'd need a trailer. Also wondering if I drove up there on a nice day with a pallet full of LFRBs, if I couldn't have a grand old time irritating the folks in the Lampus post office....

if I couldn't have a grand old time irritating the folks in the Lampus post office.... JP said it was a 3,000 lb minimum order. That would be SIXTY (heavy) Large Flat Rate boxes. I wouldn't do that to the ladies at my post office if I were making a dollar a pound packing it and shipping it out. I would have their undying hate for the rest of their careers. I have to deal with these people, and hope they don't treat my incoming boxes like objects needing to be destroyed! Hope whoever might consider doing this thinks about ALL the logistics involved. Heck, I wouldn't want to have to carry 50+ (saying I kept some) heavy boxes to my truck or from my truck to inside the post office. Even packing & shipping just 5 boxes a day would be a pain in the butt. (and a boat load of tape!) hence -
