I spend about 4 hours a day browsing the internet. Doing that with a phone is not fun at all: scrolling continuously, Straining to see text and pictures, Typing on a video screen inaccurately. I use a 32 inch 1920x1080 Television as a monitor and would never go to anything smaller. Plus I like to create and reply to threads and I can not tell you how much typing on a video screen irritates me, especially using numbers and punctuation. I will use my phone to play on the internet but it's for practical things like the weather, news and driving assistance. I will pull out the phone to prevent boredom when I'm trapped somewhere.

Better check for android tablets and phones Tommy. Desktops and laptops aren't going away brother they r long gone!!! Just check sales for desktops snd laptops over the tears. They r deader than dino poop! You made a great stride with the pic posting attachment. Not to shoot it full of holes but it's only available in desktop mode. Everybody uses android apps now. Let's tailer this forum to be friendly to android. Geez with Siri and the other to semi AI available now from Amazon, Google and even Apple the writing is on the wall.... We need to either remain a semi private club of desktop-laptop geezers or open this thing up to availability to the "masses" . The next big thing is already here....holograms.... it might destroy facebook. It might let us into the arena to compete. We have the skilz, the knowledge, the experience. The Facebook masses don't have this. True lapidary wannabes are going to migrate to specialty forums. Facebook is full of a lot of folks that are to put it bluntly faking it. Imagine a 3D holo of how to orient labrodite??? We got that covered, right???!!# RTH ROCKS!! Bill, I love you like a brother, BUT - I believed Jack Trammel when he took over Atari and said "Who would ever want more than 64K?"
I continued using my Atari TEN YEARS after they went belly up, was dragged kicking and screaming to Win 3.1 and was the last person on earth (and RTH) to be drug to Win 4 last month.

I love my big screen - the worse my eyes get the more I love it. Trying to do "normal" things on the internet (without a mouse cursor) on my phone drives me up the frickin wall in a hurry. Clearly you are on the cutting edge of technology orrum. Now if you can just figure out how to post photos from that dang thing!

Good heavens, Dave!!! As it were even possible, you have even more respect from me to get all you do done on win 4!!! Of course, it is possible, but it could be a lot easier. Try win 2k. My favorite. I think you'll love it!

I can't use a mousepad to save my life and those little keypads on phones and small tables? Faget about it! I do have a 7" tablet for emergencies and a dell mini 13" in a Faraday cage (with a dedicated solar panel*) but even those are pushing it. (*No, I'm not a doomsdayer. I just believe in being prepared.)

I think you'll love it! I NEVER exaggerate (well, perhaps a little. Win 4 never existed.)! I'm now using Win 8 modified to react like Win 7. I liked XP the most. The point is I HATE change, and cannot hear on those new-fangled phones. Still on a land line as they deteriorate around me. Have to use CC to watch TV.

I am on win 10 now acting like 7. Now that I have tweaked it, I like it well enough. I'm not big on big changes either. Like my mom, I guess. When microwaves first hit the shelves in the 70's (those big Amana radar ranges), my dad wanted to run out and buy one, Mom put her foot down. They didn't have a microwave until about 2000. She never owned a clothes dryer. Dad was so proud to buy one after she died. LOL! I have a land line, too. People are shocked when I tell them I don't have a cell.

Most of the time, I am on my PC at home, which runs Win 7 professional. The screen resolution is 1440 X 900. Easier for posting, uploading photos, pretty much everything. I also prefer a real keyboard to a touch screen, or tiny buttons.
That said, I also use an android tablet, resolution 1280 X 800. Have to give up a few luxuries (smaller size and real keyboard), but so much easier to use when in bed in the middle of the night, lol.
Lastly, I have a Huawei android phone (but don't use it as a phone, only WiFi at home). Resolution is 720 X 1280. Sometimes use the camera, also upload photos to it when I want to show them to people.
Both android machines are taken places with me, I have WiFi info plugged in for my dad's and sister's houses. Email access here or there, don't need to pay for phone service while driving, since ya ain't supposed to be using them driving! Bob also carries a hotspot with him for his Samsung phone, I can access that (when we are away on vacation or whatever) as long as there is service there.
Like 1dave, I liked XP the best.
So, which selection in the poll should I choose?

I'm almost always using my phone when accessing RTH. I work 10 hour shifts in a factory, so desktops/laptops are out of the question there. Its an iPhone 6s Plus, I'm used to it so its no problem for me.
At home I still mostly use my phone, but I have a desktop and laptop. My laptop runs 4K graphics on a 17 inch screen, which is only just now becoming mainstream enough to be usable for surfing the web. My Desktop display is a 34 inch curved screen running at 3440 x 1440 resolution.
I'm a gamer, my desktop setup including the Virtual Reality is a $5,000 rig (I paid $5k, I built it, to buy it would have cost me more around $6,500+).

However you need to graph the growth of android. If it was ten percent users and over the past few years it's grown to a much higher percentage the extrapolate... Also go to the store and look n at what's available. No desktops st Walmsrt!# Fake news, walmart has plenty of destops
