Well, I finally have my Lot-O up and vibing. It is missing a cap.
ThE Rock Shed is out of caps.
Anybody found a normal household item that fits? I've tried all manner of stuff. Nothing so far.
Help!

I just bought a Lot-O and have not used it yet but------ as I understand it the cap is keeping the water from evaporating not so much the stones in the barrel.
Maybe tight plastic wrap and rubber bands would work in a pinch?

I don't have a Lot O but how big is the opening in inches? I would try every cap I had off of any cans of cleaning products or a spray paint can top.

I'm still old school (rotary), but congrats on your find. Maybe one of these days...

An amazing gentleman who has an extra cap is posting his extra to me in the morning.
Saran wrap for the first batch.
Considering oil as the fluid for a test.

How you planning on cleaning the oil off your tumbles between stages? Would seem more trouble than a water based slurry.

Other places sell Lotos. I read somewhere long ago that a tennis ball tube cap fit quite well. Never tried it on mine.

I don't like the oil idea either. The Lot-O works great with water, why mess with the mess of oil?

Saran is working overnight. Rocks still wet. I don't understand why anyone would discourage a single experiment. If I fail so what? Back to tried and true. If I succeed we learned something. Jugglerguyjamesp specially you! Garage Rocker....

Jugglerguyjamesp specially you! Garage Rocker.... But oil. I guess I need to use latex paint. It washes off with water. Oil cuts a heck of a lot better than water(rock saw). I get it. Mineral oil ? 10W-40 ? A condemn will stretch over that thing(Lotto barrel).

Jugglerguy jamesp specially you! Garage Rocker .... It's just that oil costs more and is messier than water. Looking for the advantage, but not discouraging. With a proper cap, drying out shouldn't be a big deal. Morning, after work and evening check and possible spritz of water is all that's needed. After 120/220, it isn't near the issue it's made out to be.

'A condemn will stretch over that thing(Lotto barrel).' Don't condemn the condom, jamesp . I told Scott the same thing, it would work. (At least 98% of the time, if used correctly)

Here's my Lot-O lid Yesterday I had a revelation. I feel stupid for taking so long to realize it, but whoever named the Lot-O must be a fan of Jerry Lee Lewis. Need I explain? Lynn
