I went to the Contintail rock show in Buena Vista, CO today. First time I'd been to it. Went a little over budget. I think I got some good deals. The guy selling Dino bone had trays with a variety of slabs some good some kinda meh for $150. I have not messed with dino bone and and have wanted to so it seemed like a reasonable variety for not too much money. The other thing I'm not sure on was the 1 pound bag of Sonora turquoise for $125. It's stabilized, it seems like a good price for some colorful material, also something I have never worked with. I splurged on the Sonora Sunset slabs, they were 3 bucks an ounce. Some baseball size chunks of rainbow obsidian and a big slab of velvet obsidian, a chunk of chrysoprase and some agate and jasper slabs to round it out. I gotta learn to discipline myself better at these shows :-)

My eye went straight to that chrysoprase and the 3-D pattern on the Imperial jasper, too.

What a score! I'd like a better view of the Noreena, it looks fantastic from what I can see.
Peace,

Lots of dino bone there for sure awesome skittled pieces too. Almost bit on a 15 lb skittled piece. Not a slabber or cabber so passed.

Oh darn timloco I wished I had know you were going to be at the show. Would love to meet more Colorado Rock Hounds. I thought it was a great show. I got to meet coloradocliff yesterday. You picked up some very nice material also. I remember seeing the dino bone at a few vender's yesterday. I was able to see some new materials on the market. Nice show. I have wanted to go to that show for years.
