President of the club said it's pink feldspar and epidode (the veins) So it should take a polish I think. Could I just toss this in a Lot-o? I just got a new/used double one, haven't used it yet but thinking a head. I would like to get some shin on this rock but keep as much of the shape and hopefully enhance the visibility of the veins, any thoughts?
As a side note, I was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and will need surgery, once I know when that will be if ya'll don't mind posting up a storm, pictures anything as sitting at home recovering should bore me out of my mind lol I would have never thought I might miss going to work.

Best of luck with the health issue. As a quick estimate it would take two hundred and 39 years to read all the old posts and look at all the pictures so I think you could keep busy that way. You can always try tumbling it and see. Feldspars and epidote both polish when cabbing so maybe. I tried vibe tumbling some soft materials and had pretty poor results. Best results with Viba Dry compound. Tried several polish compounds and had mixed results (literally, malechite and picasso marble the dark areas polished well, the lighter areas only a satin finish). As always with vibes use a lot of filler.

Hard to add to what John said, but best wished with your surgery and beating the cancer. As he wrote, the past pages of threads here should last you as long as needed for your reading entertainment. SO MUCH knowledge shared here over the years. Many threads are missing their pictures now, but still lots to sift through.

Good luck with the cancer. I'll say a prayer for you.
Your rock looks like granite to me. Granite will shine, but will also undercut. The softer minerals will wear away faster than the harder minerals. The darker spots usually end up dull and are worn deeper for me when I tumble granite.

Kevin, I'm no rocktician, but I think this might be what your rock will look like polished... or at least pretty close.
