You should drive up here. We'll dress you up like a consultant and go look for rocks. I'll show you the spots I'm getting them and maybe you can sort the leverites so I don't end up hauling 500 pounds of yard rock. Need to learn how to window a rock without adding a door. Without leaving a door. Hehehe Now you fess up. Doing good Noah. Montanas are hard and fractured a lot from that ride down a fast river Probably many times, MAybe you canheal the montnas fractures. Put them in a bucket of water and a lot of solica sands and leave them there for 20,000,000 years and put a bunch of weight on them. Maybe get some help on that from the loader. I cant drive, you know that. Everyone I know says I cant drive, I drive too fast and I look at everything but the road. 8,000 pounds coming down the road at 100 and better.. yep I cant drive but I can sure fly that big ole truck. Not as purdy as that big ole Dodge of yours but has more goodies hanging off the cummings. No Dang dap fluid needed too hehehe. Need to fix yer truck Noah . At least its a Dodge and has a pretty lady driving it. I'll let you slide on hammering rocks to gravel once in awhile Noah cause you can pick more rock that a D9 cat.

Love that crazy looking chalcedony! And I'd be happy with those Montana agates alone. Sweet finds. It's neat stuff for sure. Still working on the names of them all. Looking forward to recognizing more material as I come across it. I have a few down but it seems folks get more excited about the odd rocks I pickup rather than the expected ones. Like the Clinker, that one seems pretty popular. Find some good hard clinkers with a good pattern and its sure a good one.

Sure is a great thread! I'm a big fan of prairie agate too. My pop used to drive crappy old station wagons and every time we went east, he'd break down in the badlands. I'd hunt rocks on the roadside hills while he hitchhiked into town for parts. Badlands petrified wood was probably one of the first rocks I ever collected. Your thread brings back cool memories....mel

I didn't get any of that. I'll go back and load a couple frsb's for you. Does frsb mean a whole boat load?? And a boat load for wigglinrocks too ? Flat rate shipping box 📦. Should have looked up the acronym before I posted. You can have as much as you want. I send Rich a dump truck load on me. I think it'd look nice in his driveway until he builds a wall or house out of it.

Helps break up the flatland I work in just north of there. I've only made two short trips to the area didn't look like too many people have been around there looking for rocks. Mostly oilfield and cowboys. I might have to cancel a flight and drive back through there sometime......Noah

He's got a big GPS mounted dead center of his buttocks. doubt old school will get lost very easy. GPS takes all the fun away anyway. Calculators verses memorized multiplication tables. Using Google earth for finding rock exposure is invaluable in all seriousness though. I too have been cheating in my AARP years using GE, shame. Plus we can't walk as far(AARP age), especially with a surgically mastered knee(Cliff).

Garmin gps denotes public from private lands, Sounds like you learned a lot about buttocks on that broke back rio trip. grin Old school not fool school. The world don't give up anything to dinosaur tech but much tech is wasted on foolish kids and music. Must be different in the deep south. Google earth rules in the rock world. You're a long way from AARP. Not existing in your mind, only a little in the body amd mostly in only your teases. Not mastered..screwed knee. Will see. Might go back to the scooter. No Harley this time. 2 seater, cooler, cup holders. 100o lb payload, Garmin gps. Fat chick.. When you and Bob breakin out for fall? Hitting the coral river or getting some rains from that hurricane in Texas.

At times we repair pallets and have to cut em off with a sawsall instead of pulling them.

All my friends got big trucks and a lot of them work in the Dakotas these days. Need to just keep that gravel pit you made into something that will transport in the back of a truck. Even heavy cardboard would work for the short trip/

Those plastic woven grain bags are good for a lot of rocks . Fill em up , not too full , tie the top and you're good . Slide right out of the truck .

That's why we got you for the brains of the sometimes flying circus. Yep Noah. Sort your treasures into bags and label them. One label inside an one outside. I ship rocks sometimes in them inside boxes and the rock don't get away.

fossilman Moss agates... Laurel, Montana area......My opinion...Thumbs up Since Laurel is upstream from where the Montanas are eroding out, down below Custer.. Then are the moss Agates from there a different type than the rest of the river from below Custer all the way to Glendive? We appreciate your experience and insight Mike. We know you to be the man on this part of the world. Your views and opinions are highly valued. Eye candy agate picture. Nothing to do with the question.

All depends what you want... I like Golden sheen Montana agate and black jasper with yellow healed fractures, that material is in that Laurel zone.. Nobody can say for sure where the better quality agate lays...Its all hot! LOL Just depends where you like to hound it and are familiar with the areas..
