Here's a few from the latest two batches, most Singleton Ranch and Round Mt chalcedony Apologies for picture quality, still not up to what a lot of the folks here are taking. They just don't quite capture the color of these. My apologies also to the Cabbers out here for free-forming the Bouquet. Chalcedony collected this past June, they are a bear to tumble as they have kots of ridges and bumps, 4 to 5 weeks in coarse grit DSC_0027 - Copy by Findrocks, on Flickr And one cut and polished on the Vib-Lap Big Bend Pet.Wood, the the reddest one I have ever found. Click on the picture. On the bottom right of the screen, there's a little curved arrow. Click that. Choose an appropriate size, something like 1000 pixels, and choose Bulletin Board Code or BBCode.then just copy the link provided and paste it here.
If you want to get fancy, you can delete the stuff in the link around the IMG tags. They put extra stuff in like titles and a link back to Flickr. I like to get rid of that stuff, but it's not necesary.

Those Singleton Ranch rocks are outstanding Henry!
How long did it take to do that pet wood on your vibe lap?

The Wood took the longest on the coarse and polish stages The coarse because it took me a couple tries to get enough weights attached in proper spacing, maybe 30 to 40 hour. 8 hours on 220, 8 hours on 600, and maybe 40 hours on Polish. I have started polishing the bigger pieces of wood on the lap, then slice off the polished end and start the process again. I have 2 or 3 that I am on my 3rd cycle. Weight of the rock keeps me from having to glue weights on. Now the problem is cutting off polished end when there is not enough rock to clamp effectively. Not had much luck with slab grabbers, of course that could have been me not using it correctly.
The Singleton material is a real treat for me to cut. It's a bit of a pain as I am gluing all of the flat biscuits to wood and trying to control the thickness of the cuts,etc,etc...It is worth it. As soon as I get my super grinder hooked up(waiting on the bushing material I ordered) I hope to do more with the small flat biscuits, take a lot of the crust off to thin them out and expose more of the bouquet and plume. Been setting aside a good many for the grinder to be ready.

Those are nice. The third picture from the bottom really shows the shine well.
