Originally I am from Mn where my grandma introduced me to "rocks". I am now out in Fresno, Ca and really have not discovered any cool areas to search around here until recently. My "hobby" of collecting is getting out of control! Thank you all for welcoming me!

Being out of control usually means having too many rocks ( more than you can use or need) and that is easily dealt with by giving some to other people. It's contagious if you do it right. If you liked it well enough to bring it home, you should try to convince someone else of your logic. Enjoy the ride.

It ranks up there with my succulent addiction which my daughter attributes to being single ; ) I rarely give my finds away-if they "speak" to me they stay with me I did give some pieces of really pretty quartz I brought back from Mn to some co-workers and every time I see them I want to take them back.

I love my cactus and succulents, too! But it is a given, I don't try to hide it. I am out of control when it comes to rocks. A bonafide rock-a-holic! So glad my DH shares my addiction, lol.
It is hard to give up your babies! Ask anyone here.
Welcome to the forum. There are many here that share your addiction! Jean

North Texas which used to be the bottom of the ocean, so we only have sandstone fossils which are mostly dull. Petrified sharks teeth are found here and there are some Mammoth digs in the larger area. Member Arlington Gem and Mineral Club which may just be the best rock club ever - 350+ members, 10 big slab saws, Lapidary lab, facetimg, silversmith, casting, wrapping, glass and enamel classes. Everything run by volunteers.
