Here's some that I've done recently. A few are going in the give away pile, but I like them.
Some of Fossilman 's crazy ammonite. This stuff is soooo cool. This one reminded me of an Egyptian sarcophagus. Really tricky to do a 73mm cab on a genie!
ammonite:
a smaller ammonite
ammonite freeform:
a broken piece of Biggs too nice to trash, but it didn't polish well despite my best efforts. There were some soft spots.
biggs:
This one is so nice in person. Didn't polish all that well. It started out as a chunk of whatever. I was really happy to see what was inside. SO- is that chrysocolla in the middle or cerulean? It does not look like the other blue at all.
chrysocolla:
Chrysocolla, malachite and azurite. I was super happy that this 25mm round came out with NO undercutting. Yay!
chrysocolla malachite azurite:
an uninspiring dino bone. Great polish, though.
dino bone:
Hornitos poppy jasper. This is a pretty high dome cab.
hornitos poppy:
Norwegian thulite. I love this stuff. It's so hard and expensive to get slabs, so I got some trim saw rough. This stuff is fractured like you would not believe. You can see this has a couple hairlines, but it is solid and they don't go through. Everybit I have ever had has been fractured. The color is sweet, though, so I deal with it.
Norwegian thulite:
beautiful rhodochrosite
rhodochrosite:
This is a super nice rhodonite! I mean the pink in there is so nice. Unfortunately, some of the black was crumbly and the sides and back have some very small voids. I think it can still be set just fine, but it's a give away.
rhodonite:
rosettastone aka dolomite
rosettastone:
Shattuckite complex. This was super hard. I would swear it is agatized. Very vibrant with a great polish.
shattuckite chrysocolla:
Stefoinite. This one is pretty big. I love this stuff, but it a pain to work with. You never know when a pocket of crumbly sand will open up. Argh!
stefoinite large:
a smaller stefoinite
stefoinite sm:
Thanks for looking!
What do y'all think about the 4th one. Is that chrysocolla in the middle? Believe it or not, I have some color blindness in the blue green range. Sometimes it's hard for me to distinguish some colors.
