Game of Thrones, should have known. I am clueless about fictional characters in that medieval make-believe crap, not my cup of tea. NTM, I don't have HBO!!! Better things to do than watch the boob tube.

We watch about 5 hours a week of TV. No cable here. We do have netflix and amazon prime, though. My TV time includes a foot rub.

Also called swirly rhyloite. There are some pinky tones in this that didn't get picked up. This looks exactly like some of the "squirrely rhyolite" I picked up out at the Hauser Geode beds last Thanksgiving. Some of the pieces I picked up have some nice agate areas. If you would like some slabs they will be for sale at our club show in November

I wish..... I'm stuck out here in Virginia. Tela for you I wouldn't mind throwing one of my chunks on the slab saw My squirrely rhyolite are the two cabs on the right side. They are a bit more pink in person. Lousy pictures though. IMG_20170827_144506533_HDR by Paul Clifford, on Flickr

All of them. Sure, if you cut a slab, I'll gladly pay you for one. I only need one. I go for variety not quantity.

wampidytooI will probably miss that vintage of dinnerware. I bought a big stack 6 months ago and won't need more for another 6 months or so. They will have a newer more modern motif by then. Lol

It was just a book before tv ruined it. I suggest reading it, but wait for GRRM to finish writing the series before starting it or face waiting ~10 years between new novels like the rest of us .... You are so right about tv/movies ruining a good book. I sometimes wonder WTH some writers are thinking when they churn out crummy movies, when if they had just followed a well written book, they'd have a blockbuster.
I read a lot, but that subject matter just does not appeal to me. I like Sci-Fi, but not fantasy. I have read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams, boy they really botched that up when making the movie, lol. Have read all four in that trilogy (yes, what I said!), and recently picked up number five, Mostly Harmless. Written in 1992, I wonder why I just now found it? It is labeled as "The Fifth Book in the Increasingly Inaccurately Named Hitchhikers Trilogy." A lot of fun!
Nothing on TV can beat a good book. Jean

I don't read as much as I used to. I fall asleep immediately. Sucks for me. But, I used to be a voracious reader. My SIL still reads a lot. I got her a t-shirt that says "The book was better". I was never a big fantasy fan, either. I am one of the few people that can't stand Tolkien. However, GOT thrones is more political than anything else. I love the intrigue. But, for me- its SCI FI all the way. Can't get enough. Anxiously waiting for the new Blade Runner.
