Actually finished these about a year ago. Have been off posting pics for a while, computer and other problems, all good now. My wife and I went there and screened for diamonds for maybe an hour. Spent the rest of the time picking up rocks. You are allowed to take anything you find, diamond or otherwise. We searched the area where amethyst can be found but came up empty. We took out three 5 gallon buckets full of rock, most of which I ended breaking up, too big to tumble. Here is some of the UV18 load that I finished ... This was one larger ugly rock that got broken up for tumble food. Really like the combination of purple and green. IMG_3115 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Cut a few for slabs/flats, here some of those. Diamonds! We don't need no stinkin' diamonds! Those are sure some pretty rocks, mister.

Very nice polish on those and very smooth. I may have to stop and pick up a small bucket full for tumbling on the way to dig Quartz Crystals in Mt Ida.

I've wanted to go to Arkansas for some time now. I know chances for diamonds are low, so this makes me happy. Great group of tumbles with a fantastic shine! Thanks for showing us.

As I remember Jasper was everywhere you looked and there was quite a bit of agate to be found. Diamonds were hard to find. I saw a glisten and picked up a stone that was already faceted. I figured someone was messing around, but it did not hit me that it was a week after April fool's day till I saw the evaluator. So I can at least say I found a diamond in the park. A fake diamond.

So I should bring two buckets, one for rocks and one for Diamonds? Optimist !! Did your Big Bend mossy agates get a good hurricane cleaning Hank? Best think about getting out there in the rivers by you and collecting if the water ever goes down. Cliff

In the early 1990s, I collected some large buckets theresimilar material, but they have vanished. There *were* some Amethysts in mine, not too many if I recall correctly, I didn't know if they were really supposed to be there, or if they were "salted" but it sounds like they were natural. :-( I wish I knew what became of those buckets. I had a very light-fingered friend in the 90s, so I can never be positive if anything that disappeared back them went into his backpack...
You did a beautiful job on those stones, and it reminds me I have always thought to return one day for another haul. Seems like I had many like your image 3122... now I wish I had gotten the opportunity to polish them before they vamoosed!
