Great find! I have a book about Fairburns that was given to me by a local rock hound before my first visit to S. Dakota. It is full of great information. And to date contains my only fairburn I have all 3 of the Fairburn books by this author. 2 of them signed copies. They're a great resource, filled with lots of info on locations. Good luck finding copies 1 and 2. they're nearly impossible to find. Copy 3 is becoming hard to find also. The Fairburn is South Dakota's state gemstone. Don

Well don jakesrocks Took a Fairburn to get you out of that chair and to move that grumpy old rockhound Jake. Maybe have to get something Fairburn and dangle it in front of you more often. Don't own any yet but will every chance I get. Darn nice rocks.

LOL, hey Cliff, I can get my fix just by punching a button on my display cabinet to turn on the lights. Top 3 shelves are Fairburns, with a few not so nice ones on the bottom 2 shelves. I'd post pics but Photobucket is playing games again. Jake is still a playful pup. Think he's playing games just to boost my spirits. He wants so badly for me to play with him, but I just don't have the strength or balance to do so. Kills me to see him with a toy in his jaws, wanting me to play tug of war with him. Don Lets see if this works. Top shelf

Don That's awesome Don. I remember when Jake had that backset a few months back. We all celebrated the poo pile... grin. Might go out in the yard and get rid of the poison like Jake did. hehehehe. Oh that's right, the darn neighbors again.. Bet your not so nice Fairburns are totally killer and your best are way better than most museums stock. The thousands of hours you spent on the hunt were filled with anticipation and maybe a liyyle expectations. I can post any pictures you want if you want to pm me an email. After all, If you only knew how many of your old posts that I read and loved the pictures. Hated seeing the picture jasper thread get hurt by peeBucket. That sure is a nice display.. WOW !!!

Holy Cow! My son and I just started and I've been thrilled to find 2 or 3 small Fairburns. Your collection is jaw dropping!
