I had 2 large salad bowls full of polished rocks on my coffee table to show off to my friends. One was all the quartz that I ever tumbled, and the other bowl was everything else. Temporarily the quartz bowl was placed into a box of computer parts to make room for another project. Then the box got moved to the utility room...now it's 2 weeks later and I can't find the bowl of quartz anywhere in the house. I asked my fiancee and roommate but nobody has a clue. Did somebody take my quartz ?

Maybe. I can't find my blue earrings! I suspect they will turn up someplace and sometime, and so will your rocks.
Salad bowl might have gravitated to the refrigerator!

Is the box of computer parts still accounted for? If you donate items, maybe it was inadvertently donated. If that is the case, maybe you can buy them back.

Could have been rock whuzzies too., At times an alien will eat some of my rocks for minerals. Had to have been aliens cause at times I cant even find my "Hello Kitty" collection. I think they play with them and sneak em back.

It is now Day-3 and there is no sign of this 12 pound bowl of polished quartz. I even asked a friend that comes over a couple of times a week if he had seen them. They have got to be within 40 feet of where I am sitting now.

I have always noticed, that when something is misplaced You always find it in the last place you look. :)

Not likely all were stolen. A handful, maybe. Still smoking? The rocks are where they were placed or with whom there were given.

I couldn't find my drill when it was time to do hurricane proofing. Tore the house/garage apart looking for it. Had to go to HD and buy a new one. I've had that drill around 30 years. GOTTA be here somewhere. How do you lose a drill? Now if I can't find something (unusual) wife unit says it is with the drill. ha ha ... (turkey butt!)
Probably with Woofer's rocks!

So when I saw this thread come back up I was hoping they had been found. I HATE loosing things that I know should be here somewhere.

But did you blame your wife for not putting it away??? My DH and I went round and round yesterday over a pair of wire cutters, that I must have done something with, cuz he just had them. Found them as soon as he turned to walk away...they were in his back pocket.

*S* We moved cross country, Commiefornia to Texas, nine years ago and I still can't find my good target stand, or the replacement I bought when I could not find that one. Still finding taped boxes of rocks I had the movers move. Problem is, the big RV barn that came with the house has too many places to put stuff. Still remembering rocks I left in the yard and forgot to pack when I left the west. Funny, but as I gets older, I seem to forget a lot. Went on a snake rescue the other day and forget my belt. Bent over to snatch the snake and my pants fell down right in front of a whole BBQ party full of guests. You'd think Ida forgot the embarrassment by now, but nope *L*....Mel

Funny thing memory...
I can easily recall trivial things from decades ago. Can put on a music CD and say what the next song will be - even if I haven't played the CD in years. Remember the name of my 1st grade teacher, every school I went to (lots of 'em - military brat), old addresses from childhood, ... etc etc etc
But don't ask me what I had for dinner two nights ago!

I gave my place another Big Look Around today without any luck finding those rocks.I have a Trilevel house and I can say that these lost rocks are Not on the bottom two levels. There are 12 pounds of white rocks in a bowl bigger than a foot around that can't be tipped very much or it will be spilling rocks. They were in an area where I wanted them to stay.
