On the subject of hbotswana agates, some of them will never be jem quality. I was just at a neat little shop that used to be a great place to buy datolite. The porcelain type, colored white to shades of brown, only in the UP kind. They had a shoebox size display of bots for a buck apiece. Every one had a pit or two that would never have ground out. Almost too small to cut in half, just were finished as they are. I did buy some from Rock Tumbler and there is some very nice pieces in the lot. I just got some blue bots from Rockshed, they look nice as rough.

I did notice on some of the pieces there was deep pitting. Still gonna be fun and my husband liked some of them as is when I wet them.

One of the many stones that can turn out well. You put a fantastic shine on them. I also like your batch of OJ better than the one I had bought from them. I wonder if they were scraping the bottom of the bin when I tried a batch?
