Today has been a great day. I got home from school and found out that I won second place in the tumbling contest. Then we went out skiing with a math teacher friend and her husband. Both are past students of mine.I have my own boat, but it's not a true ski boat. This boat was awesome. I'm not sure what year it is, but it's this boat. It's a Malibu Wake Setter. It's made to create an awesome custom wake for wake boarding, wake surfing, or whatever else you want. The wake is customizable. This was my first time wake surfing. When wake surfing, you get up using a very short rope, then throw the rope into the boat and just surf on the wake. People who know what they're doing can ride indefinitely. They can do tricks too, but I was just happy to go a little bit. I was pretty awkward looking, but it sure was fun. Anyhow, here's the video. Not sure what the problem was with the audio.

Sweet Rob, looks fun. The audio was way creepy though. Used to do a lot of knee boarding & slalom skiing back in day before wakeboards existed.
The video cut out just when it looked liked you were gonna wipe out. I'm sure no one on here wants to see that...

Looks like a good time, I'm sure you recovered balance and rode that all the way to the dock.

The video was taken by the owner of the boat. She edited it too. I definitely went down soon after the end of the video. That was also my longest run.

Nice ride Jugglerguy! Sure looks like a beautiful afternoon on the lake! If that boat is specially made for this activity, is the prop guarded? Made me nervous to see you so close.

It is an inboard boat, not an inboard/outboard. That means that the prop is well under the boat. I'd say a foot or two from the back and then there's a large swim platform behind that. You can't do this behind a boat like mine, because the outdrive extends out behind the boat.

That looks like fun. I feel like it's a crime I live so close to Lake Michigan but don't own a boat. I keep saying I'm going to buy one just to say I've done it once.

I grew up on an inland lake here in Michigan. I don't live on a lake now though. Beflrer I got my ski boat, I was feeling bad that I wasn't able to get out on the water anymore. My solution was to buy a used kayak on Craig's list. That really helped and wasn't expensive, it's also a good way to get to some otherwise hard to get to rock hounding locations.
