Did you get the Mad River's from the vendor pictured above the Septarian Nodule bookends? If I had known they look like Montana's on steroids I would have picked up a couple. He had some nice Laguana agates but the better ones were gone when I got back on Wednesday. I would guess he had gotten rid of 3/4 of what I first saw.
Two mad pictures. Notice the lack of fractures? Also the color is much better than it looks. A nice shot of orange and larger and brighter inclusions. Was in a lot of sun and I cut this rock out of a pile picture.

Next time I will know to grab a bit. Of course, with the rough and slab my dad had and the rough I have found I can be busy for a while. On the other hand, I have lots more room.

What are these? Noreena Jasper? Shiva Lingams - Egg-shaped stones made of cryptocrystalline quartz. (jaspers) Again probably the stones are probably one of the many, large patterned Zebra jaspers. They are found in one of the seven holy sites of India - the Narmada River in Onkar Mandhata. Villagers gather the stones from the river and hand polish them. These are surely machine manufactured and are much larger than the small stones the villagers gather from the river to polish and sell as religious artifacts.

Nice set of pictures but it still doesn't give folks an idea of just how many tons of rock were there. It was amazing to compare it to the shows more local to me. There were dealers that probably had more rock than entire shows near me. Most of the members here have more rock than small shows.. Not me of course. I only have a piece of asphalt that I share with Rich, sometimes Dale, and always wigglinrocks . I just sent it back to him for his turn to enjoy it for a while. Maybe he'll send or post a picture of our asphalt.. Its a beauty. We call it "Black Beauty" A conglomerate.
I already have "Black Beauty" on display in my collection . It kinda takes the spotlight in a collection of two rocks . You will have to remind me when it is time to send it back to ya , hard to part with a prime specimen like this .

Didn't you see all the tear soaked packaging on the box when you got it? Must have not seen the water marks in your hurry to tear into it huh? Hope you didn't break a tooth this time opening the box. Neither one of them.

There were dealers that probably had more rock than entire shows near me. For sure Fish.. I didn't have any pictures of most of the cavernous first floor of the Western nor the huge lower floor where all the Brazilians and Moroccans had so much stuff. Also didn't take pictures of any of the giant tents in the Coliseum parking lots. Acres and acres of mineral goodies. Still have a lot of problems with many vendors, both foreign and domestic that don't under stand they need to have identification and prices posted. Just standing in the aisles blocking potential customers while they chatted on their cell phones made me ALWAYS go to another vendor. Bet things are super cheap today.. SMILE !!

Long way from Florida and figure it's gonna be EXPENSIVE (+ shipping!) Specimen collector here too Bob, Probably figured that out. Big chunks here $350 or so. John is still at the show and Sunday pm these boys will be ready to deal. Been a bit of a slow show. Had my eye on about a 15 lb. malachite/ Chrysocolla chunk but the guy wouldn't get cheaper. Aussies had some too but was afraid to even price it from them. Africans are like Moroccans and a bunch of non serious business people who don't put a price onwhat they have which indicates to me and many others that it obviously isn't for sale and so don't waste my time. They like packing and unpacking the same material trip after trip. A few really big and competent companies that brought the right material, priced and priced to sell and rocked the world. If I really wanted a chunk I would have worked on it though. Got a boat load of that Mad River agate I have been in love with for a while. ~~Smile~~ Will grind some for coarse with a wet grinder when I get time and pop them into a 40 pound vibe. Why don't you start a rock shop there, travel to buy and to collect and write it off? Be good for you and you like doing it. Only bad thing is you would be away from your dear bride and when she decides to have her own hurricane and you choose not to have one there won't be a problem. Lots of retired people to sell to and to service.

I told yah Sis. Should have listened to a y chromosome defective. hehehehe Its open tomorrow and we all know your truck flies. They will be begging people to take some of that weight tomorrow. Picked up 55 kilos of the citrine on white quartz ( Did someone fart or is Uncle Fester still stalking and making mean comments even after I blocked his insanity?)
and a neat chunk of titanium rainbow quartz And 450-500 pounds of rough and stuff. Will post some when I get time. A couple big buckets of prime Mad River agates. High graded from 5000 pounds.. smile.. Gonna wet grind it to rough and toss it in a 40 lb vibe to polish it when I get time..

Cool material and I look forward to pictures of your hair. So where was every one. I would have expected more people. From the pictures only John had people at his booth. I am sneaky first thing in morning before they open I already had 150 pounds of rough picked out,. Wait to see which side door are open for the employees of the vendors to enter. Eazy peasy. Does these pictures work of my hair?? fantastic5 PS tried to get pictures early in day sans people. Stopped by later in pm to grab a vibe from John before I took off over the mountains for home. Last buy of the day. Had to leave early pm to get over the mountain passes before the traffic got bad. Lots of highway construction in the summer because winters here are hard on the roads.
When I post from my phone I'm subjected to autocorrect. I try to proof read, but some slip by. I meant to say haul and instead it became hair. But gotta say, the pictures were pretty great! You had some great hair, and still have what looks like full coverage of the solar panel.

Yep a long hair after the military service. Lost the blonde wife but still have the daughter. Had a huge afro for a couple years too. My liberal phase till I grew a brain. Now am apolitical and independent conservative. Short hair..

I was pretty sure Anne fantastic5 meant haul, not hair, lol. But you handled it perfectly. Looks like the Denver show is a great time! Seems it can be pretty hard on the pocketbook, though... Sorta like Alice's Restaurant - you can get anything you want! Thanks for taking us along.

Hate spell check. grin Not bad for the ole budget. Got by with less than 7 and did get some good stuff. Will post pictures of my hair.. Meant haul grin.. when I get time to take pictures. Stopped and hounded a couple rivers and 2 mountain passes on the trip over and back. Will set up a page for a drive thru the mountains like you did a while back at the old mines. That was pretty cool. Playing catch up at the nursery and the knee isn't helping. Yep had anything and everything. Still got a long list for Quartzite . zarguy was going to the 2 shows at the Mart and maybe Lynn will take a couple pictures. Tony said he was setting up early and that way I can get back to the greenhouses for Spring production. Here's a preview for yah. Rainbow Aura Titanium Quartz
