Been cabbing a lot. Got a new 80 grit which is speeding things up considerably. I have a bunch of soft ones before from before I put the new wheel on. I had a LOT of trouble with the wheel though. I'll post some questions about that later.
Inverse bloodstone from wampidytoo Jim a long time ago. (Thanks again!) I thought it was all gone, but I stashed this piece and just found it. It's really awesome.
Killer Morocco seam agate - better in person. Has some metal in it, too.
This is a cab from that cool slab that ma and Susan Bluesky78987 were talking about. Its really cool stuff. Probably rhyolite. This is probably the highest dome I have done. The slab was really thick. It was the first one cut on the new wheel. I wouldn't have even tried it on the old one. Went like butter, though. Man, I cut a lot of this away!
Kambaba- usually doesn't polish very well, but it really liked the 50k. This is better in the hand. The white doesn't show up as well.
Been trying to perfect my approach to cabbing ruby in fuchsite. No undercutting and the rubies are polished. I'm happy!
I little piece of bruneau too nice to toss.
Been wanting some nice orange pretty bad, so vegasjames threw some into my box of coppers- this is something orange in quartz. Very nice in the hand. Thank you!
A little dino bone- looks better in the picture- unfortunately.
Wyoming dendritic ... dolomite? Big shallow cab.
Another big cab- rosetta stone
super thin Turkish lapis lace. I did this to see if I could. It was a very thin scrap. This is very soft being marble.
sweet little red horn coral from the rth box from accidentalrockhound
This was one of those cabs I had marked out, but found that the back looked so much better. It's a Charlie Brown Easter egg of rhodochrosite!
Agua nueva- why do those healed fractures show up so well in pictures? It looks much better in person! Nice touch of druzy, too.
Laguna lace crazy lace. I love this one! Those aren't cracks. More like dividing lines. They are real shallow.
Another crazy lace. This broke several times while cabbing it. This is what is left. Still pretty big and I really like it. I LOVE the metal line going through it.
A small heel scrap that I had to cab. I love Guadeloupe jasper!
Small but beautiful piece of rhodochrosite. Easily one of my favorite stones and so fun to cab.
large Picasso jasper. This really loved the 50k, too. Best polish I ever got on one.
Now, aren't you glad that I left a few off? You've already seen them, but I got better pictures.
Thanks for looking.
