I'm planning to make a trip to Nether's Farm this Saturday to dig for Flint. I was planning on getting around 5 pounds or so, but it occurred to me that maybe some of you all might like some, either buy or trade (I'd prefer to trade). If you're interested one way or another, please let me know so I can get a rough (hehe, pun intended) idea of how much I'll need to get. Thanks, Luminin I would be interested to buy a box or two if you have enough to go around. There are really pretty flint arrowheads on the cover of the October issue of Rock and Gem magazine. When I saw it I said "I gotta get me some of this stuff" Andrea

Wow! Those are REALLY impressive. If I get into stuff of that quality, I'll rent a room and dig for a full two days!

Hate to say it, I can't go. Transportation issues. I have to start earning serious money before I can purchase a car, or a truck. I've quite bit of rocks I could sell, but I have been slow to sell them all. Don't have room for any more rocks. Gotta upgrade.

Don't even try. The disappointment would be crippling.

Those arrowheads and the prefaces in the other picture are heat treated.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for some should you get enough. Thanks very much. Dave

Luminin here's another picture from inside the magazine. I've had the pleasure to hang out with Jim Landon a couple times, fantastic guy! We talk often on FB and he mentioned the article for Rock and Gem on the Flint. He also wrote one article on Disdero agate and a year later one on Blackbay opal also in Rock and Gem.

Those arrowheads and the prefaces in the other picture are heat treated. Good to know. What does the green look like before heat treat?

The green is green b4 and after heat treatment. Green is hard to come by at Nethers. Roy Miller has his own Quarry and seems to get a lot of the green. Green is what everyone is after.

Thanks for all the material, toiv0! I still have a fair bit, but I'm already thinking another trip might be needed!

Thanks for all the material, toiv0! I still have a fair bit, but I'm already thinking another trip might be needed! Just jumped into staining/sealing my deck. Fence is next. Would go quicker if the work week didn't interfere. I'll be ready to go get some flint in a month or so. I'll hit you up when I have a good idea which weekend. Wouldn't mind meeting you there.
