Good for you. Sounds like a great trip. Glad you took extra buckets. That's one place I'd like to get to, but I don't see it happening any time soon. Please keep me on your mailing list. Best regards.

Here's a link to the imgur post with a little more info. Also, I managed to carry out about 117 pounds of material, so almost enough to go around! Please don't commit to negotiating a trade just yet, let me get pictures of everything laid out uploaded first so you can get a good idea of the general quality. Edit: Oh right, that link... imgur.com/gallery/jfXMB

So much for five pounds, huh? I hope it was cooler there than it was here today. I went snorkling for rocks just to cool off. I’m glad you did well today, I really want to go there sometime.

Nicely done! That haul is kinda like 5 pounds - but different. Probably gonna sleep well tonight. Different gloves in order next trip. Look forward to seeing pictures of your rocks wet. Good job.

Great haul, now you need a electric skillet with lid or turkey roastee to make them truly wild colored.

I was at that the fall show this year and talking with a dealer. He said a man came here with same buckets full of green flint. It sold like hot cakes but sounded cool looking. I think that's the rarest color. I've never seen green flint. So, did you dig any green flint?

spiceman No, that's mostly from a private quarry, owned by a knapper named Roy. Mom said the exact same thing, MrMike

Wow, looks like you found the colorful stuff! They look even better cleaned up and wet.

Very nice haul, should make some great tumbles. Bigger pieces might be good for some slabs if you ever decide to get a saw. The "sunny side up" one is really special. Henry

Was the knapper digging with a backhoe and is nsme Ed Moreland? It's about time for him and his buddy to go get a big bunch at Nethers.

That's some of the best tumbling material available, one of my favorites anyway. Easy to tumble, shines up beautifully and is a real looker. You certainly grabbed some nice stuff. It's a four hour drive there and I plan on heading up this Fall...when it's not 85 degrees and humid! You must be a tough guy. Great first hounding trip! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hey Luminin Ed digs in the same pit every time, he is Roy Miller's protege. The pit Ed was digging in use to be the one Roy dug out of. After Roy got his own Quarry Ed took over that pit. He fills it back in with stuff to keep people from digging there. That's very definitely the best pit to dig!!!
