Well, The family is taking about a road trip in the spring. We are planning on heading out to Keokuk to dig geodes. Anybody have any good places for rocks on the way? I know Monroe Lake in Indiana is a good geode location, anywhere else? My plan is I-70 to Indy, I-74 to Champaign and either I-72 or I-74 over the Mississippi. Can anybody give me some hints on locations, or even a guide?
We already hit Nether's for flint twice a year.
Thanks, Cory

Kentucky too far south from your intended route? I have seen posts from members here of some pretty nice geodes collected there. Don't recall specific sites or even which members, but maybe do some searching here on the forum and elsewhere on Kentucky geodes.
Hope you have a great trip and find lots of quality rocks. AND are still here to share pictures of your finds when it happens!
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! I have a little info on geode hunting in KY for you.
Here is a link (not mine) to some info on geode hunting on the Green River in KY.
Green River geodes
I have hounded geodes in Lincoln County.
Weekend geode hunt
Also, geodes and the rare KY agate can be found in Estill, Jackson, Rockcastle, Lee and Madison counties. Here is an example of some the things you can find.

May not fit your route though, sounds like you are staying North. Perhaps a Nether's Farm/KY geode trip some day.

Thanks Folks, Got some info about the Bloomington In. area as well, maybe a few trips one west and one south west.... Maybe I can make it down for some KY shows. I can hit Nether's on my way down for trade.
