I don't know, but it is purdy. Brecciated. I love the color tones. Blends really well.
My initial thought, is it from a desert?

Depending on which monitor I look at what you have looks like Spanish Point WY jasper/agate.If it is from there it is old school because nothing has been pulled out of there for a long time. The piece I am showing here was given to me by the brother of the man that used to have the rights to it and he has been dead for many years, Russ and I picked up stone in the same area but it is nothing like this piece. I am not sure if I put a slab of this out because I have given away too much to remember it all. It is quite possible though. Where did that piece come from? Jim

Here are a few other pics. I think is got the chunk from Quartzsite last January. A lady had a table full of rock and was selling a five gallon buck full for $40. I probably can get 3 more slabs out of it. Andrea

I agree, when they are that close together there is an obvious difference. Looks like you got a great deal though. Beautiful stone. Jim
