Huh? You responded to a post I made to someone else. Sorry. Thought you were tagging on. My bad. I was really just making sure people understand that the backhoe fee is separate from the collecting fees. Chuck That is great! Thank you.

Well, I have a jack hammer...his name is Scott S or Shotgunner. All you have it do is buy him some beer. HA Also, my dad is a no show and there goes my ride but I have other ways to get there, maybe. If I start walking (or whatever) now, I should be there in time. I will keep you up to date on what's going on. But I will find a way to get there. If you don't try, you will never win. There's the metaphysical power of rocks. They've got Dale walking! And I just thought rocks were chick magnets. Everytime I'm wearing one of my pendants in Walmart a couple of old ladies compliment me on the stone. Lynn Well, I still can't walk but with the rocks now I have to carry a role also. So I can tie off a area for the chicks, so I can get around. :)

@shotgunner - I hate to split hairs but are we close to deciding on the 6th or the 7th? Either day is perfectly OK with us (as long as we get to meet rockjunquie ) but it does affect our decisions on travel days - we want to make sure we are allocating enough time to say hi to family in KY and maybe do a little geode collecting on my cousin's farm before having to run out and head north to Ohio. Garage Rocker - for trip planning purposes only is there any chance that anything resembling the great favor that you accommodated for my brother two summers ago could be arranged again while we are in KY? No skin off our knees if it's a closed window, just had to ask.

Last time I went, I had to dig around a bit to find good material. He has people drop stuff off to him, but it was getting thin. I'm sure he wouldn't care, though. Can you hold on it until it warms up some and I can check it out?

Can you hold on it until it warms up some and I can check it out? Yep! of course. Also worth exploring in turn, is if I can bring you along (if you care to) to my cousin's farm for Geodes. This will also take time to arrange - I haven't spoke to the man since I was 14 years old and I'm not sure he liked me then . In our favor is he let my brother collect there so it should still be fresh in his mind. I am told that geodes there are a nuisance to the farming operations so they just pile them up along the sides of the fields.

Is this the man I met with your brother? If so, he's a great guy. I'm sure he's forgiven you by now for whatever you did to him. Yes, farmers find geodes a nuisance. Rocks and plows don't mix well. Many have been discarded or simply heaped in a pile.

No it would be his older brother's son. His younger brother was my dad. I'll work on it in the coming months

DH still hasn't put in for it. He gets busy at work and forgets. BUT..... My SIL expressed an interest in going and I could probably get my herculean brother to go (he can do the digging LOL) Come hell or highwater, I'll be there. I'll probably need a hotel. SIL is not keen on camping. Me and DH like to camp, so I'll need one or the other. I don't have any tools- AT ALL. Will I be able to borrow some? If not, what would be the basic tools I would need? Keep in mind, I doubt stores carry anything too specific here. I have never hounded before. Getting pretty pumped up.

How many days are most people staying? What's it cost to rent the equipment we want or need? Per person?

I didn't get vacation for it. The new scheduling LT is a moron who has no clue what he is doing.
