Hi,
I'm a new member hailing from Arizona. I am definitely a novice at tumbling, though I do have both a rotary and vibratory tumbler. A friend asked me to tumble ~10lbs of Peridot so that it can be graded for faceting. A Google search brought me here.
Past efforts with my rotary tumbler have been successful to a point. It seems to me that I'm losing too much material during the tumbling process. No so much to fracturing, but rather to abrasion. Hopefully, I can find the answers to my concern here.
Thanks for being here and open to sharing your experiences.

Welcome from CA. Ultimate goal is to get to Prescott. I'd recommend throwing your question in the tumbling section. Also go into detail about the different steps in your process that you're using. You'll probably get more answers or direction there. Unfortunately, it won't be from me, as I've never tumbled gemstones. Dave
