I ran this glass through the 3 pound Loretone 3A tumbler a couple of months ago. I did not have enough plastic beads in the polish stage and the edges became frosted, but otherwise, they came out OK.

I rather like the frosted look! Just received some multicolored glass from The Rock Shed and thought I would dedicate one of my QT6 drums to a little trip... the kids will love them. What was your recipe? I thought I would treat them just like I would an obsidian tumble. Any words of advice? Did you use filler in the 80 grit stage?

These did . . .
1 or 2 weeks in SiC 46/70, very full barrel, only glass, no plastic beads or filler 1 week in SiC 220, always have a 80% full barrel, No beads or filler 1 week in SiC 600, half glass half plastic beads 1 week in AO 1000, half glass half plastic beads 1 week in Cerium Oxide Polish half plastic beads
If you want clear polished glass, clean thoroughly between stages, Use more than 75% plastic beads in the last 3 stages, keep a full barrel 80% full.

Glass is an unforgiving tumble. Loves to frost. If frosted during 220-500-1000-14,000 it has to be re-run in coarse or perhaps 220 to remove frost and run again. Good candidate for small gentle 3 pound barrels. Good candidate for Lot-O vibe. Some glass is harder than others. Great effort and a tricky material.

As jamesp said glass is a prime candidate for the magic lot-o. Here are a couple pictures of a load I ran with busted wine bottle and normal rocks. Would have been even better if I ran the glass by itself. I did not change anything as far as process goes. I ran this load like any other rock load. I do use 30%-50% ceramics in all of my lot-o batches though. Chuck

Hat's off to the Chuck. He can put it on glass.

Wish I had an answer for how to get the same results from the rotary. Effortless with the vibe.

"Can regular glass be run in conjunction with Obsidian?" I think I can see some Mahogany Obsidian in your pics.
