Tell more about the Bear- Boot Grease. What’s it for? Greasing boots? Most waterproofing and conditioner is petroleum based w/ silicone. Not good for leather. Bear fat is natural and doesn't damage leather along with the properties of water proofing and conditioning leather. Black powder guys use it for lube on their black powder. Just a mix of rendered bear fat and bees wax.

Yeah, that honey label is sweet. I don't know about boot grease- never heard of it. Label was made 25 years ago when my farm was "lazy acres". When I expanded into other things it is actually "lazy acres Empire" now of which I am the Emperor of my little fiefdom. Along with the boot grease I make salves for friends with the bear grease mixed with plaintain, balm of gilead, tansy, pine pitch and what ever comes to mind when it has time.

Billy, would your bear grease be good on boots worn while riding a horse through thick and thin in all kinds of weather except snow? Thanks.

I would think so, I have a mule skinner, farrier friend who said when I get home he wants another round. Said hes never found anything better. i use it on my boots and its great.

I'm trying to convince my dad to try MN Hygienic to see of they will be a little hardier in the winter. he has buckfast now I have italians right now. Have tried Russian bees and also carnolian. Carnolians seem the best for me. A neighbor and I were trying to acclimate bees for harduness and raise our own but 3 years seems to bee the longest we can get a hive to live and if you have one die and bring in those bees from Calif you've wrecked your genetics.

I think if you sold your boot grease I'd buy it. Frankly, so many of the commercial products just suck.
