Cool WIP report! Keep the pics coming! I see you have the dog bed, that's really important. What are your plans for music source? And do you plan to solder at your smithing work benches, or in a separate spot? I find there is too much dirty dusty gunk generated from soldering so I like to work away from it. So excited for you! Thanks All let me say once again the financial part of this was because I sold My Collection of Tractors and Being my wife has been so supportive of me over the years is why I am going all out for her on this new venture. My Wife has never questioned one thing I have ever bought for example I am a licensed Pilot and one day we were flying along in a Cherokee 180 and I says how ya like this plane and she says it's alright why? I says you better like it cause I just bought it!!!! I have done everything that I have wanted in my life now its MaryJanes turn. We will both do this new venture together. Bluesky78987 I am sure there will be a nice tuner and speakers along with a wall mounted TV in there. As far as Soldering I plan to do that in there being I am a 35 year Licensed HVAC Contractor by trade if need be I can probably hook up an exhaust fan system.

rockjunquie Sorry to say I do not have running water in the Garage but do have a freeze faucet on the house not to far away. This winter will be 5 gal buckets. I do plan to have a couple 55 gal barrels of water filled and I do have a drain tank and can have sludge pumps if need be. I plan to work these details out next summer.

Well On Shawn's site it says could be up to 6 weeks I have been extremely patient cause I haven't got it yet, and it was ordered on 9/21/2017 So tomorrow I will be giving MR. SHAWN a call as it has now passed the 6 week mark. I am thinking some Comp's will be in order

By the way, all sawing will be done outside cause I don't want to buck up my new shop. Most all sawing will be done in the summer time at least that's what I have planned.

Glad my shop is in a corner of an old boiler house. Right now only the saw is pristine. Working on unpristining it. IMO you made a good trade. My wife is currently studying the latest batch of tumbles. As in "Do you think this would look good in a ring setting?" Nice to have a common hobby.

(he never did) I recalled him tonight at 6:09 eastern time and he said it will be another 10 days. Well it looks to me like somebody SCREWED THE POOCH and left Ole Duke out in the cold!

Great set up TheRock. I do have to question your motive behind the set up. Are you really doing that for your dear and understanding better half . or are you using that as an excuse to build your ideal shop? You may never tell can't wait to see the final out come. Looks like you had an awesome wheel horse collection. I wish the two of you well in you new found hobby. Enjoy.

Well it looks to me like somebody SCREWED THE POOCH and left Ole Duke out in the cold! Seems to be epidemic lately. Another lapidary company has burned me for some goods and is not doing the refund as requested. Soon to be a chargeback. Like Friday this week indeed.

What was or seemed to be important before is a faded memory. You appreciate the ones that have supported you and in this case it has been my wife. All she has done for me while I have been recovering is just plain awesome. I am Truly a blessed man, and anything I do for her could never be payment enough. What ever I do I do 110% anyways. Look at the overkill I did for the tractors on the original purpose for the room. All I did this time was switch hobbies but this time its something we both can enjoy and do together. Am I benefiting I guess, but she is also just as much. If you ask her who's room it is now she would say it is her's. I am happy that she is happy. ~Duke

I have never had running water in one of my shops. Buy one of those 5-10 gallon plastic containers with a lid. drill holes near the bottom, install 1/4" taps and plastic tubing to water all grinders, sanders, sink, etc. You have to wash them rocks. The one I'm working on now has a funnel in the lid and a cork when not pouring a jug of water into it for a re-fill.

TheRock- reading what you have written about your DW is heart warming. A good relationship and a caring supportive significant other is a blessing indeed. I am happy for you. My DH and I value our hobby time together like you would not believe. We don't date, we don't go out, we rarely go anywhere. We prefer to be at home with our hobbies, sitting across from each other, listening to our music, running ideas across each other, talking, reminiscing, laughing. When my son and grandkids moved in, it put a damper on things since we have everything set up in the diningroom, but they pretty much understand that we need our alone time for each other. So, I feel really happy for you for the bonding you are about to enjoy.

It really helps to have a mate you can depend on!

Congrats on your new shop. This is what I did for a sink for my room. We hooked it up to the hose faucet, since the sludge can’t go into the plumbing my sink drains into a hole nearby through a washing machine hose. For hot water I have an old coffee maker in the room so I can wash oil off the slabs after they come out of the kitty litter. Andrea
