Lol @garagerocker!
And if anybody is going to be in town Wednesday or Thursday night of the pow wow, we could get together for dinner or something. Or Jan 1 or 2.

These buttons are pretty cheap on eBay right now. Maybe everyone can get one of these to wear as an identifier...

Hubby and I were going to go until I went on the Best Western website to book a room tonight. We have always stayed there when we do go to Q. There were only a couple of rooms left for that weekend and at $161 and $190/night, we've decided to not go. In years past, I've gotten rooms for around $129 or so. Too rich for my blood. Ouch! that is expensive. There are a lot of decent places to stay in Blythe - only a few minutes longer drive, not much. Yep, I just checked the Best Western for that weekend, and it's $161 as mentioned. Probably going to pass on that. I also checked Blythe, and some of the places I would stay there are also fairly expensive for that weekend. As an aside, if I booked mid-week in Ehrenberg, the price goes down to $71 per night. Hmmm...what to do? As much as I'd like to meet everyone, I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Well now, you've kind of been on a roll lately. Nicely done.

Sleep in the back of your truck. There is parking right by Tony's booth. I have had mixed luck at Motel 6's. Routinely stayed at one in Yuma for Dove hunting. It's nice, as just about everyone that stays there is a hunter which results in a quiet respectful gathering. Unfortunately at others, the cheap rate draws in a nefarious crowd at times. I actually was considering doing the truck thing. I may call you in a day or two to speak to details. Dave

I use the HomeAway app when looking for places to stay when traveling. Here's a listing of a little one room cabin in the area for a good nightly rate. t.hmwy.io/r2kd/wqBxSIqn3H

That's a great option. I hadn't even considered this. Nice to see they're in Pomona which would be a stop for me going out there. If I decide to go this route and pull a tent trailer, where am I limited to parking it? Keep in mind that I've never been to Q, so I'll have a bunch of newbie questions. Dave

Others can chime in with their camping spots - everyone seems to have their favorite but in our limited experience it seems you can pretty much park it anywhere around the outskirts of town - there is literally NO limit to the places to stay. Last year we stayed on Dome Rock Rd. on the west side of town - DRR is the last exit before you come down the hill into Quartzsite. There was a massive amount of perfectly level ground all around where we stayed - probably could have fit 10 RV coaches into the space. The only reason we didn't crawl back into the hills a bit was we were meeting up with @shotgunner and jeannie in their rented RV and we picked a spot near the road and set up a flashing light to guide them into camp.

That's great info Tommy , and it is much appreciated. I just realized that the wife is looking to be retired about then, so I'll have to see if she is even interested in going out there. You've given me some great options. Luminin has also pointed me to a spot. We'll see how this weighs out. Appreciate all of the ideas from all. Dave

Parker is an option for lodging also, it is a bit farther drive but there is a casino there and if you reserve in advance its not too bad, if you try to stop in there at the last minute it is pretty expensive. Last time I stayed there it was $55 per night but we reserved it a couple weeks in advance.
I like the shirt idea, I already have several from when Lee was selling them.
We could also have a little potluck on friday night for just RTH people if you want.

Rock soup as the main course? I feel it'd be very popular.
