Tommy go out Keuhn Rd going away from desert gardens thru Tysons Wells and straight thru the traffic light. Go straight until the asphalt road ends, it parrelels Rt 10 and turn right on a dirt road. This is Shaddam Wash. You register a ways back on the asphalt Rd. You will see the host sign. Anyway back to the right turn at the end of the rd. Just pick any place out there. You can keep going until the right, then you get far enough from the road noise. Or go south of Q on 95 and there is camping on your right several miles out toward Yuma. Thanks Bill! I know you've been doing this a lot longer than me and you have probably developed ways to get through while keeping your sanity - but both of those locations take you through the epicenter of traffic and I don't see the logic in heading anywhere south of town when Dome Rock or Plomosa are free and accessible without going near Tyson Wells. The only question is can we find an adequate spot at either location to let the doggies roam. Maybe I'm just being stubborn but last time I got caught in the 95 overpass traffic my dog learned some new words that made him blush

I'm actually not at Tyson Wells now. I will be at PowWow helping Kris Rowe with his booth and hopefully selling more of my rocks and slabs that didn't sell at Tyson Wells show. He asked me to help him just a few days ago so it was last minute decision time. I'm sure you can find a place to camp that will fit your needs Tommy. If anything there is an off leash dog park in Quartzsite over by the library/city hall. It isn't huge but it has grass and is kept clean. Looking forward to seeing you all.

We'll be getting on the road around 0930 this morning, just late enough to let commuter traffic clear. Will be going to DG this afternoon to see Tony catmandewe and look around briefly. Probably will be there between 3 and 4, so not too much time to look around tonight. @shotgunner, are you out there now?

The pre-meet and greet was a raging sucess. Burgers and pesto and rock bs aplenty Some folks were not as scary as the pretend to be. Thanks to Tony and Chris for providing the venue.

The meet and great was a blast! It was nice to meet some of the folks i have been typing at here on RTH. I had not been to Quartzsite for at least 20 years. It such a blast! So many rocks! I went on the field trips for green banded rhyolite, chip board rhyolite and salome marble. All of these trips were the kind where you get out of your vehicle and decide how much rock you wanted to pick up. I found the best deals in Desert Gardens. I picked up lapis, malachite, condor agate, moroccam seam agate and a few other goodies i can't remember at the moment.
