The meet and great was a blast! It was nice to meet some of the folks i have been typing at here on RTH. I had not been to Quartzsite for at least 20 years. It such a blast! So many rocks! I went on the field trips for green banded rhyolite, chip board rhyolite and salome marble. All of these trips were the kind where you get out of your vehicle and decide how much rock you wanted to pick up. I found the best deals in Desert Gardens. I picked up lapis, malachite, condor agate, moroccam seam agate and a few other goodies i can't remember at the moment. You were there? Not doubting, but I'm sorry I missed you. The Friday event was absolutely outstanding, and it was great being able to put a face to a user ID from here on the board. For me (and my wife) this was the first time I had ever been to Q. The big benefit for me was meeting folks I've had contact here on the board. The wife, who has never been into rocks at all, is now exploring getting into wire wrapping. She's always been intrigued in what my finished tumbles looked like, but Q spawned an interest for her. Aside from that, it was great meeting folks I'd only had contact with on the board. I'm not even going to try to name all I met, as I'm sure I'd forget someone. All I'm left with is that the folks I met are as great in real life as I've encountered here. At the end of the day, it was a great trip, and I'm looking to do it again. Dave

I didn't take as many photos as you Mel melhill1659, but I'll put them up in the photo thread. BTW, the saw is a Lortone. Glad it found you.

Wow... I haven't been around for awhile.
Life got in the way.
Are all the Quartzite festivities over?

mrzulu, yeah, pretty much. There might be some dealers left at Desert Gardens or Tyson Wells, but most have probably moved on to Tucson or gone home.

I'm heading out there in a couple weeks to look for that. Do you happen to have directions to the chipboard and marble locations? That chipboard looks like pretty cool stuff.

That chipboard looks like pretty cool stuff. Maybe private message him? Lots of folks are averse to posting specific locations on a public forum - it's a good way to get a location stripped clean in short order Good luck in your searches!
