James, you make breaking them into tumbler fodder look so easy! No new injuries from sharp shards?
Well, that'll keep you busy! For a few days, anyway. You liked the green moss, didja? Not enough room in a LFRB to put all the stuff I was going to send you.

Great stuff jamesp. Was there a method to your hammering, or did you just mash away? Thanks. Dave

Beautiful tumbling material. Your method seems precise. Pretty even sizes and smooth breaks.

Dave Chuck, I was strict on myself and about only collected waxy faced cobbles. The rule was to knock a chip off anything that went home. 2 reasons, see what is behind those deceptive patinas, and to make sure they were glassy and not grainy. Easy to chip those with the glassy texture. Dave, I am anal about tumbling material. It sure is easier if it is a glassy high grade agate or jasper.(conchoidal fracture) Then the hammering method with glassy material comes from lots of practice with coral, it is glassy like bloodstone obsidian Brazilian etc. I have a video on Youtube. Let me find it. I have an accent so you may need subtitles ha. Best to start at 5:00. Got groove then.

If there were I probably would have heard about it fishnpinball. No doubt the agates at Falcon Lake travelled across Amistad. Falcon varies a great deal in pool level which helps expose to collect.

Not enough room in a LFRB to put all the stuff I was going to send you. That green moss was like a big chunk of glass Jean. It chipped up real nice. Photos don't do it justice. What a fine rock, should have been sawn and thin cabbed. Too lazy to wear gloves. Naugahyde skin from from handling fire pits helps. If the cobble was over 1.5 to 2 inches thick I sawed it in half to assist chipping. Or round. Liking these rocks, appreciate it.
