By all accounts he was a really great guy. He suffered a lot in the last few years and has now found peace.
Saying goodbye to one more innocent piece of my childhood.
I once knew a girl who saw him in concert and got a kiss on her cheek. She didn't wash that side of her face for like a year. Talk about acne! LOL! I had a crush on Bobby Sherman, not David Cassidy. My favorite Partridge was Danny. He was my brother's lost twin.

What I find scary is all these stars from my youth that are dying are fairly close to my age. Cassidy is a bit older, he was able to be portrayed as much younger than he was.

Cassidy was 67 years old. Maybe all the stars dying now are the lucky ones? I mean, maybe better to die now, than suffer a slow, painful demise after the world as we know it goes to shit?
Sorry to be so morose, but with everything going on, I think about it more and more. EOTWAWKI is going to happen at some point, whether by Mother Nature, or by man's own hand.

It's better to burn out than to rust away? Some truth to that.

I totally hear ya. My kids are like- Aw, you'll live forever. I'm like- I sure hope not. Judging by health and genes, I don't have too much longer, but I am totally cool with that. DH's uncle is almost 100, living on his own and very active, but he is sad and lonely. He says everyone he has ever known is gone. He is the last in a few generations. He is also disgusted with the way things have become. My mom died right before 9-11. We thought that at least she was spared that. She would have worried herself to no end about the future for her kids and grandkids. What is the old curse? May you live in interesting times?

Most of the people I have personally known are now gone. One of my favorite authors:

Most of the people I have personally known are now gone. One of my favorite authors: William Sydney Porter Lived in Austin Texas for quite a while - his home was just southeast of the state capitol building and has become a museum. He wrote among many other things numerous hilarious stories about embezzlers and crooks.
