My 2nd batch completed. A few photos of some of the batch. I added more rocks to the second batch and seemed to lessen the bruising and improve a bit.

Fine tumbles timd. Naturally rounded pebbles ? Did you tumble them with any smaller rocks ?

Those look great timd. I like that jaspelite. Did you collect them yourself?

Thanks! I used smaller rocks along with lots of media. I didn't include all in the photos. These are all self collected rocks from Lake Superior.

Great looking batch, second or otherwise. Extra credit for self collected!

Really fine batch, looks like they enjoyed a nice cushioned roll.

Thanks but I'm still a rookie. There are some that get bruised or fractured and some that get scratched during the polish stage.

I'm of the mind that if a batch comes out with a handful of near flawless stones it was a resounding success, but many here set the bar much higher. If you're chasing perfection there are some great mentors here.

My feelings exactly! I don't need perfection although I do enjoy the few that turn out great. I really enjoy the thrill of the hunt and once found, tumbling and displaying some of them. I really enjoy the clean outs as the rocks change and hopefully improve. They always seem to "come alive" when cleaning out for the next round.

Thanks but I'm still a rookie. There are some that get bruised or fractured and some that get scratched during the polish stage. I’ve polished a lot of Lake Superior beach rocks. They never all come out well. The rocks with fractures probably had them all along. Some rocks are softer an just don’t polish well. Others have varying hardness and therefore undercut or polish unevenly. Those turned out about as well as can be expected. They look perfect from the pictures.

Hey Jugglerguy, I'm realizing that as I go along. There were about 8 rocks that cleaned up very well but won't have the polished look. I simply oil or spray them to give the wet look. There are some that have thin fractures and don't really see them until after the polish stage is completed.
