You were reading my mind!! I knew when you first named "him" what you were referring to. "I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him..." From 1961. Were you even born then? Lol.

Fine advise from the captbob. Me and Bob fought off Mexican drug lords to bring those George's back from the Mexican border. We almost died. I remember. Gunned them down at point blank to avoid agate theft. Good on you guys.... Police didn't even respond.

You asked about adding fresh small stuff late in the tumble MsAli. I try to use all tumbled small stuff. I don't know if adding un-tumbled smalls at 600 or polish can cause problems. Probably not a problem with agates, yes a problem with softer glass. Worst case is having a broken ceramic media tumbling with your near finished rocks since it is really hard material and will scratch about any rock. So I use softer quartz jelly beans since they are softer and round. Not much experience with plastics, I am certain you don't need them if you have plenty of jelly beans for cushion.

My tumbler started squeaking this morning. Might need to oil it🤔 They are going to come out tonight and move on to next stage. George and the Bots are looking so good and I don't see any sign of bruising on anything.

When you go to polish you may consider sugar to thicken and lubricate. Doubt it is needed with a small barrel, can't hurt though. You can mix sugar in a couple of cups of water till you get Karo consistency. Not quite as thick as room temp pancake syrup.

Will be stopping at the hardware store on the way home to pick some up-also need some things for my Dremel- Failure not an option-----Will not disappoint you This one is about the same size as George. Now it got polished in an expensive vibe so you could say I had a serious advantage. But I have done similar 8 to 10 ounce stones in a rotary. Maybe 6 or 7 of them with lots of small tumbles in a 12 pound barrel. I used aluminum oxide 500 and polish with sugar slurry only in both 500 and polish steps. 10 days 500 and 10 days polish. But you only have one big rock and do not have the problem of several big rocks hitting together so you have an advantage in your small barrel. What color is your 600 ? Should be either white - grey - brown or black.

Going to clean it out and see what y'all think....pictures in a few after I get some much needed coffee and food.
