Picked these up real cheap. They were labeled wrong (bruno). So which do you think they are- biggs, blue biggs, deschutes? 3 slabs front and back, damp. First slab, 3rd pic dry. I'm leaning on blue biggs for 1 and 2. 1 (1): 1 (2): 1 (3): 2 (1): 2 (2): 3 (1): 3 (2):

The last 2 are definitely Biggs. You could call them "Blue Biggs" IMO. The first (nicest) piece I'm leaning Biggs, too.

Thank you! I always get them confused. I didn't pay those prices. I think they are old tags. I love these and they are so hard to come by anymore- for me , at least.

Those old prices would have been good - a decade or more ago, so if you got them for less, they were great bargains. Always exciting to pick up something good that has been mis-categorized. BTW, the void in the first piece is something occasionally found in both Biggs and Deschutes. Those are what is left of organic material that was trapped in the fine ash fall. I remember one which was some sort of animal bone, others were bits of branch. You may want to examine that more closely. That piece will make a high-priced specimen if you give it a face polish on one side. The other 2 look like they have great potential for cabs.

It's a fairly large bit. You made my day. I gave 25, free shipping, for all three and the biggest (#1) is about 5x5".

That's $2000 worth of cabochons. Just add capable hands.
Great buy!
