It may be spring now but with the windchill factor it was only 20 degrees at the beach today. I spent a little over an hour in the water and never seen another person. In the summer months this beach is jam packed full of people. This beach is as far south on Lake Huron as you can get. Right after this point the lake enters the St. Clair River. My normal hunting grounds are hundreds of miles north of this spot. It did feel good to get the season started though. Only brought a few home. On a normal day most of these would not have made the cut but for this location they were as good as it got. Pudding stones, Petoskey stones, Favosites, Horn coral and Cladaphora Thanks for looking Chuck

Nice haul! You're braver than me. That looks way too cold.

Glad you were able to get out to start the season although it looks a little nippy for my tastes. Guess I'm just too used to the desert.

Glad you were able to get out to start the season although it looks a little nippy for my tastes. Guess I'm just too used to the desert. Our saying here is that you can dress for the cold but too hot is just too hot. Of course that is just our way of trying to justify living in a place that is frozen 5 months out of the year. Honestly nothing got cold at all today except my face when walking into the wind. Neoprene chest waders and neoprene gloves are awesome. If I would have been smart enough to toss a face mask in the truck it would have been really comfortable out there. Chuck

That little Petoskey near the upper left of your picture is really nice. You found a lot of the same stuff that we have here in Alpena. That frozen log does look a little chilly, but I’d love to get out right now. I’ve had enough winter. Unfortunately, there’s still too much ice here.

Ice breakers are going around Drummond right now to open up the shipping lanes but the snowmobile trails are still open so still a few more weeks. Chuck
