Great work and for giving me an idea for rolling mill textures ... going to head to the wall paper shop shortly& some free samplers could come in useful!
Anyone done this already? I would be keen to texture some metal and if snakeskin works I don’t see that wallpaper wouldn’t?!

Great work and for giving me an idea for rolling mill textures ... going to head to the wall paper shop shortly& some free samplers could come in useful! Anyone done this already? I would be keen to texture some metal and if snakeskin works I don’t see that wallpaper wouldn’t?! Just about anything raised or recessed that will go through the mill. The trick is to aneal well. My trick is to tighten the rolling mill down on the silver and what ever i am using for texture to the point that you can still pull it out but barely. Then give about a 1/8 tighter, I use heavy paper about the thickness of an old match book or business card. Fold it over in half just a little bigger than the metal then run it through. Too tight and your metal will roll and thin, to loose not a good relief, and not tempered no pattern. I have used doilies, brass plates, plastic templates. I really like the textured brass from fdj tools.
