Thanks to everyone here I finally tried my hand at some construction of my own. Not perfect, but I'm happy for my first one (maybe second or third tries had to learn how to solder first) The bail took a few attempts to get it into a position that looked right after it was flipped over. Have to wait till tomorrow to try the next one, got to go to work soon.

If you used a backplate, you can cut the bail from that. Then you don't need to solder the bail onto anything, but just solder the bezel onto the backplate. Good luck!

Looking good. Agree with Pat on the back plate.

Really nice looking rivarat! Excellent execution for a first pendant. From one newby to another, getting things to hang right, or squared up on a pendant or ring shank is one of my more difficult things to do.

fantastic5 picture an apple with stem. The stem would be the bail. Cut out apple with stem attached. Fold over the stem to act as the bail. Voila!
