I love unakite. I slice it all the time. If it looks like granite, it will tumble like granite (it undercuts). Try to find the stuff that isn’t speckled. The green is almost always good, but the red/pink/orange (feldspar) sometimes doesn’t hold up as well. Rich’s pictures are good, but it varies a lot. UnakiteMore unakiteThat’s really great that you have seven Lakers. That local guy would know a lot more than I do. The ones you bought from Karen are really nice too.

That's a pileated woodpecker. Don't you have them in southern Michigan? We have them here in Alpena, they're not rare, but you don't see them every day either. Cool birds.

Well I guess we do have them, but our Peckers aren't as big as these Peckers. And I haven't seen ours hopping around on the ground like this guy was.

The 7-8 grayish ones look like slag . Jaspelite for the little red and yellow banded one . Maybe two agates or jasp/agates .

It is Thursday 8/30 today is our last day hunting rocks here in Marquette. Friday morning we push off for home and I have a Killer Drive to the Most Southerly County is SW Michigan 506 miles and 8 hrs. The trip is winding down but look fwd to the the Rubble and treasures we have gathered. We have enjoyed ourselves thoroughly on this trip. And have learned alot.
