Ok, now I need a clarification. Are you making steel forms to use as templates to form your silver around for the inlay or are you actually using steel for your jewelry?
I'm so confused .....

TommyI’m getting better with my jewelry saw but the shear is 100% quicker and straighter! I use steal forms of all shapes and sizes to make my bezels from, I cut the strips on my shear, roll a pattern on to everything, form it around one of several various shapes then solder!! Easy peesy. My dad helped me yesterday cut a few more steel forms. I didn’t realize you had a metal band saw DAD! A few for more tiny rectangular shapes. Mel, watching you unlock the talented artist inside you has been absolutely wonderful Enjoy the new tools - you deserve them.

Lookin good Mel. I am starting to pack so I can head west!!! Are you gonna come and camp a while in Q??? Yep Yep I’ll be there for a week or so in January! I’ve already rented my RV spot at Desert Gardens! Jan seems a life time a way but I know it’ll be here in a blink of an eye! Ahh, so you'll be bringing the trailer this time? Joyce and I were just talking about Q last night. As of now, we'll probably stay at the same place in Blythe, but we may add a day or two to the trip to extend it. Just remember you want to be there over the weekend when Pow Wow is going on. I think that coincides with Tony's BBQ. orrum, are you going to be doing demonstrations again this year? Sorry Mel, didn't mean to hijack.

You are using steel? Most of my jewelry tools, including the shearer, say not to use with steel. Like the pendant! I use my shear to only cut nonferrous metals (sterling silver, gold, etc)!! My dad or a machine shop cut my steel “FORMS”. I use the forms to wrap my silver bezel walls around. So all jewelry normal, all forms and dies are steel.

Mel so sorry to hijack but hey its amongst friends right??? LOL Bill, you would have tagged me if if you put @ directly in front of my user name. Nevertheless, glad to see you will be there. The wife will need to watch some of your lessons again. Life kind of got in the way of taking up the hobby, but she's still interested. We got her stump, her "anvil," and a brand new ball peen hammer all ready to go. She just needs time. Looking forward to seeing you (and everyone else) again.
