Also, if you ever get the chance to visit the ron coleman mine, please do. Really nice people, good clean facility. RV park was an unbeatable price of $12.50 a night (just under $20 after taxes and fees) free water, free septic spots (separate dump station in case you didnt get a spot with sewer connection, free electric (something you dont get in texas often). Shower and bath facilities are a bit dated, but they work and hot water was nice and hot, plenty of water pressure. $20 per person per day mining fee, and you can take anything you find. Allowed to come and go as you please, so due to the heat we took 3 adventures to the "public mining" area (mine tailings), but unlike some places, you can put 3 inch points out. You can find plenty of quartz Crystal's here. If you dont find any quartz, you are; 1 - not looking, 2- blind (even the seeing eye dog could hand you a random point), or 3- you are in the wrong place. Be prepared to soak and scrub any and all clothes worn during the day. The orange mud will stain pretty much everything. Some people say, " good place, I would go again"... I say, great place and I will be back again, probably sooner than later.

Thank you for posting loot! Looks like you had a great haul. Arkansas has been on my short list for quite some time. This just makes me want to go all the more!

Great haul and great review. Sounds like a nice place. I love those small points. We found a ton of small points. My definition of small being 3/8 inch side to side, ish. Some were optical quality clear, however most were clear tipped with milky bases. We found an untouched area that the recent rain washed away the dust and revealed hundreds upon hundreds of small to tiny points. Great stuff for the kids (please note, I have no kids, however friends and neighbors children loved them) and was going for "the big ones."

For 9,000 truck pulling an additional 9,000 at 75mph, it really isn't so bad. Especially with as tall and non aerodynamic as that thing is. Oh and add 500 pounds of stone and tools in there too. :-)
