Nothing wrong with that at all. Just pointing out the difference. The OP has capacity well over 100 pounds and that is a whole different animal. Chuck Yes, but I have barrel envy. Chuck is right. I had a big fight on my hands in my small workshop between the Covington two six quart rotary and the Lot-O vibe when I introduced them to the 65T. Words like why you bringing him in here and big show-off were heard. It seems when I said I was planning on running 80 pounds of Bahia's, 10 pounds of crazies and an assortment of ceramics as fill, as well as a big crazy at over 5 pounds, plus water and grit of 25 pounds, pandemonium broke loose. So I do understand the concept of barrel envy. They recovered their snit and explained, well, we can do it quicker and finer and don't need a big friggin ramp to put us on our machines. Touché, I explained, now we are all pals. Cheers, johnw

I don’t have to dump any water outside if I always have Petoskey stones tumbling. Makes me wonder if a handful of limestone flour would do the same thing? Does this phenomenon happen when tumbling other carbonates?

Put in inverted styrofoam box/chest over the tumbler. Motor heat will allow tumbling into the teens.

Guess I am lucky to have a utility room to tumble in. Thanks to others, have decided there is no problem running a small amount of grit/polish wash through my outside drain. Can keep the insulated utility room at 50 when there is a strong North wind and temps -0. I only use surgical gloves for clean outs. Just bundle up, as when I am doing laundry there.
This will be my first year of tumbling inside in winter, so will let everyone know how it goes.

These might just be the gloves I'm looking for to hound the prairies this winter! Thanks for posting this, James

I have the tumbler running in my unheated garage, so far no problems yet Also my first winter, and it hasn't gotten below zero. Yet
